Solomon Fine Art is one of Ireland’s leading contemporary art galleries, having built its reputation on representing Irish and international artists working primarily in a figurative style. The Solomon specialises in sculpture and regularly mounts major off-​site outdoor exhibitions in locations as diverse as the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin and the Village at Lyons in Kildare.

Gallery artists include: Jean Bardon, Leah Beggs, John Behan RHA, Sandra Bell, John Brobbel, Cheryl Brown, Colm Brennan, Anna Campbell, Comhghall Casey, John Coll, Kieran Crowley, Orla de Bri, Ana Duncan, Mike Duhan, Margaret Egan, Rowan Gillespie, Ronan Halpin, James Hanley RHA, Leo Higgins, Patrick O’Reilly, Ian Pollock, Bob Quinn, John Short, Rose Stapleton & Imogen Stuart RHA.

In addition to hosting regular exhibitions the gallery also sources, purchases and sells works of art on behalf of clients worldwide and can acts as art consultant to both public and private collectors.

History

Established in 1981.

Solomon Fine Art was established in 1981 and for many years was located in Powerscourt Town House in Dublin. In 2011 the gallery moved to its current premises in Balfe Street, situated next door to the Westbury Hotel just off Grafton Street in the heart of Dublin’s premier cultural & shopping district.

Meet the Business Owner

Tara M.

Business Owner

Tara attended University College Dublin, where she received an honours degree in History of Art & French and a postgraduate Diploma in Arts Administration. Upon graduating in 1994, she began working at Suzanne Macdougald’s Solomon Gallery and was appointed its Gallery Director in 1997. In 2013 when Macdougald announced her retirement, Murphy took over the Solomon on an independent basis.
