Silver Trout has been my go-to shop for years if I want to buy a special present for a friend or family member. The staff are extremely helpful and kind but never pushy, so it is a pleasure to browse. They are also very patient with indecisive customers like me. The price range is quite wide, so whether you are flush or skint you should find something both tasteful and affordable in this little gem of a shop.

I just popped in here today in a search for a tiny silver nose ring to replace the tinny steel one the piercing shop set me up with. The shop has«sterling silver» written over it’s door so it caught my attention immediately. The owner was so lovely to me, completely open and willing to help. She got out a bag of tiny silver hoops and had a slightly larger one lying around she said I could try. A pair of tiny hoops cost € 6 but as she knew I just needed the one she said I could have it for € 3 and she gave me the larger one for free as well. She really insisted nicely. I came away feeling really warm and happy as she told me to pass on the kindness to someone else. Sometimes the little things can really make your day! On a technical note, I think the sign in the photo is now changed and new.

I love jewelry but I RARELY ever treat myself to it. I do not allow myself to purchase a jewelry item if I have to even think about a purchase. It has to speak to me and it has to be something I know I’ll regret not getting. I finally had the moment again when I find a piece I knew I just have to have. There was no saying good-bye to it. I purchased a silver ring with large square shaped black lava ring and garnet on top. I am in love and can’t wait to show it off. Silver Trout is the type of jewelry store that I always hope to discover anywhere I go. The prices are reasonable… not cheap whatsoever but it’s doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I saw prices from 28 Euros to 200 Euros. My ring was 145 Euros which is a splurge for me, but remember I rarely treat myself to jewelry… that’s me justifying my spending. =) The lady who assisted me was very sweet and not pushy in trying to sell me something. She was very patient with me and educated me on some of the designers that they carry. All the pieces displayed are very unique and handmade. Conversational pieces, fun and sophisticated… not the same stuff you get at any other jewelers and having to pay $$$$. Trust me, if you’re looking for something special and unique to add to your collection without doing damage to your bank account, make a visit to Silver Trout.

This is a great shop with very reasonable prices. I have purchased Marcasite earrings here, as well as amber cufflinks. They really are the best silver shop in Dublin. That one in George’s Street Arcade is so overpriced! I’m not sure how they stay in business. Every time I visit Silver Trout, I ask myself why I ever went anywhere else? The staff is very polite and welcoming. No pressure, always friendly. Next time you are tempted to go in one of the cheesy Jervis Street or Ilac Center jewelers’ shops, please smack yourself firmly in the forehead. Go to Silver Trout! They are right on the corner by Stephen’s Green Shopping Center.

It’s always tricky when you’re a twenty-something almost-unemployed man, and it’s your girlfriends birthday, to find that piece of jewellery that lands somewhere between a necklace from Weirs that says«Look, I used all my money to get you an inappropriate gift in lieu of having taste or a brain«and a diamonté necklace from Accessorize that says«Look, I don’t have any money, or taste, or a brain.» If you’re a man who has a brain, taste and a moderate amount of money then Silver Trout is going to prove it to your petite amour. Their selection of hand-made, amber pieces set in sterling silver are my personal favourite, and will get you extra brownie points if she’s a Jurassic Park fan. Five stars for making the art of hand-made jewellery accessible to the romantic who may have a heart of gold but not necessarily a credit card made of gold.

My favourite bracelet is from Silver Trout. This is a gorgeous jewellery shop with the friendliest, most helpful staff around. I got a beautiful diamanté bracelet that is delicate but sturdy. I love it.
