Finding a consistently high performing running store can be as illusive as finding a barbershop that gets your haircut perfect every time. It’s not the simplest task to find the perfect running shoe, and if you’re staring down the barrel at a 6 month training plan, getting your shoe choice wrong can be enough to put your training intentions up on blocks. However, the team at Run Logic have always managed to put me at ease with the level of high quality service they provide. I purchased my last training shoe from Ash who was capable of providing a diligent, attentive, highly informed and personalised level of service that saw me leaving the shop with the feeling that I will never have to look any further than Run Logic in Temple Bar.

Dani and the whole team at Runlogic are nothing short of fabulous. Competent advice, and an honest and friendly style that will have me coming back for many years to come. After trying the rest, I’ve found Dublin’s best. Thanks for being awesome.

Run Logic — a specialty running and swimwear shop — is a great addition to Temple Bar, and to the athletic offering available in Dublin in general. And it should be! The owner, Ash, has completed more than 60 marathons(with all his medals on the wall to prove it) s, so I guess he knows a thing or two about getting the perfect fit for running shoes. They’ve got a gait analysis machine to assess your stride, a lovely selection of Brooks, Merrill and Mizuno running shoes, and freshly made juices, coffees and sandwiches to boot. What I really liked, however, was the breadth and depth of swimwear and swimming accessories. Friendly staff, a convenient location in the quiet end of Temple Bar, and expert advice on the right equipment to help you stay fit.

So last night the girls and I were talking about running shoes. Because we have to run to train for rowing. You know. To get fit and all that. One of the girls suggested a new place in Temple Bar. Run Logic, she said. Run Logic, Liat. It’s just near The Turk’s Head in Temple Bar. And it’s owned by a friend of mine, Ash. He used to be the manager at Runaways in Parnell St. She only mentioned it because I had said I was going to go there as I would be in the neighbourhood for a meeting. In actual fact, the meeting was cancelled, but I still wanted to get a new pair of runners. So I went. I was greeted by very friendly guys in this little shop that had a small selection of quality running shoes. A little bit of running gear. Watches. And a café! Nice. So, I told this really nice Italian guy that I wanted new running shoes, had some issues with my knees and arches and he then put me on the treadmill. Not only did he video my(bad) running technique, afterwards he showed me my leg alignment before trying on shoes and then afterwards with the pairs of shoes that were suitable for my feet and needs. He brought out some nice shoes. But I wanted to think about shelling out € 135 for a bit. I was also late for an appointment. Before I left, Ash, the owner of the shop said hello and that he recognised me from ‘running’ along Chapelizod and said that I should come by for the store opening drinks at 5. I actually went back at 4 with the goal of buying the shoes and that was it. And after I paid for the shoes, I was offered coffee, then some wine and then some nibbles and we got to talking. Ash, who is a competitive long distance runner, has big plans for his business. Not only selling shoes and running stuff, but also organising runs and the sort. Stay tuned to this channel. And I might go back, when I manage to run the 3000 miles these new running shoes were made for!
