For starters I had one of the best salads I’ve ever had! The St Tola Goats Cheese Salad was yummy, the creamy goats cheese and the beetroot were a match made in heaven! Oddly the pecans and blackberries went with it really well! Crumbled pecans gave it texture and the blackberries sweetened up the acidity of the beet. The chef really knew their stuff putting that dish together! I had the whole split lobster, which drizzled in melted butter, was just heaven! The fries were ok, honestly they could be better. I was disappointed with the upside-down blood orange cheesecake. Although the blood orange sauce was nicely bitter compared to the sweetness of the custard, it was too hard to eat! It was impossible not to spill the biscuit layer there was so much of it. And the crumbled biscuits on top resembled cheap ‘rich tea’ biscuit crumbs which made the dish looked half-assed… Too much to ask for a nice creamy slice of proper cheesecake? However, my friend enjoyed her Berry Mess dessert. Try the Arinto white wine, it’s gorgeous and went well with the lobster! Atmosphere and décor is cool and luxurious, staff are friendly. I might come back here to try the crab cakes and lobster linguine!

Such good value for money! I highly recommend this place! The restaurant is in harvey nicks. Sit by the window and u have a view of the shoppers in the piazza down below! When I’m home in Dublin this is one of my favs! The half lobster is succulent and tasty with hand cut fries. What more could you want! The atmospheres is great most people are sitting around wearing their lobster bids! Cant wait to go back

We decided to have dinner in Rock Lobster after a visit to Dundrum for a change. The steaks were very good, tender and perfectly cooked but quite expensive too. The Service was only average and there was a really bad draught coming down off the tall windows that require keeping the jackets on to stay comfortable. We’ll give Rock Lobster another try later in the year to see if things improve a bit.

Wanted everything on the menu but eventually The Boy and I settled on the split lobster and the cold platter to share with a side of sautéed spinach. Garlic butter with the lobster was heavenly but then anything garlic and butter is never going to be anything but! The platter was ok, tasty enough but not sure if we would get again. Was let down at the end of the meal, the coffees that were ordered never appeared, the 2 waiters that were serving disappeared and we had to go through to the bar to pay our bill. The barman was apologetic and seemed slightly embarrassed. Would we return? Yep. Food was lovely, The Boy and I had a jolly good time

I got the ice-skating puts fish and chips meal deal, which also included a pint, and my friends got the split lobsters. We were all really impressed! Best fish and chips I’ve had!

I went here for a date recently, an we got a menu for 2 including a set 3 course meal and a bottle of wine for € 59 euro. Which was great value! The meal was fantastic, although a bit inconsistent. I got a goats cheese salad to start and then there mains were very pub grub choices, I ended up choosing the fish and chips which was average, as I enjoy fish and don’t eat steak. The desert was a crème brûlée. The place is nice an open, high ceilings and windows, great view of the dundrum water display. Will defiantly return to try the rest of there menu.

We’d been here before a couple of years ago and hated it. They’d reinvented it as a steak and lobster joint so we decided to give it another chance. So we went here on a Friday night. Started with excellent mojitos in the adjoining über-cool cocktail bar and then to our table in the main restaurant. First thing that struck was the room was bright and airy but cold. A number of diners complained around the same time as we and they eventually did something about it. Not a great start. I had a T-bone stake and my o.h. had the burger. I’d ordered the steak medium rare but it came medium-well. The accompanying Béarnaise sauce was practically solid so thick was it. In typical Irish fashion, I didn’t complain although I should have, of course. In fairness, the steak was good and the accompanying goose fat fries were excellent. My wife’s burger looked good and she was happy with it. The wine list was short but we had a very acceptable cotes de rhone. Service was friendly and efficient and the bill at a smidge over € 100, including the cocktails, was pretty much what I expected although a little expensive for what we had. Would I go back? Maybe. But no rush.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff. I got the lobster. It was my first time having lobster, so have nothing to compare it against. Honestly, I don’t get the hype about lobster, I’d much rather the taste of steak. I had a great time playing with my food though, and cracking the lobsters back in half while singing«Rock lobster». The chips were nice too!
