It’s the last day of the Christmas break, I have wined and dined to a point where my once slightly rotund figure has now taken on planetary proportions and I have started generating my own gravitational pull. Small moons circle my midriff as we enter Papillion’s oh so inviting doors and are shown to our seats. We are here for brunch and then, weather allowing, a walk(wobble) along the promenade to bull Island. The brunch menu is big — not so much so that it confuses or is off putting but enough so that you have a good range to choose from. Between us we had Irish breakfast, French toast, eggs benedict and the steak and chips. There wasn’t a bad choice among the dishes, it was all perfect. Coffee was very good too. Cost-wise it is all very reasonable, less than 70Euro for 5 of us. After an excellent and most welcome brunch the weather did indeed allow a walk to Bull island, its literally across the road from the restaurant and affords an amazing opportunity to walk off the repast. Would definitely recommend a stop into Papillion, an amazing brunch!

Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A My Irish friend said this was a great tapas experience! Great food/good views/. Lovely ambience and great service. Lovely fresh and inviting ambient seating and lighting. Staff was great when greeting, seating and serving. Just get their attention if you need anything. I’m glad we just paced our dishes as we enjoyed our wines and having chit chat. Smaller portions tapas style! Lovely to share and have bites of several dishes. Loved all the flavored in every dish I experienced. Bread and dips(those were some spicy olives), The Piri Piri shrimp is lovely with fresh herbs and soaked in butter. Had to ask for extra bread to soak up the juice. The sole stuffed crayfish was lovely with the beure blanc sauce with the sugared apples and chorizo. Absolute delicious. More bread to soak up the leftovers. Then the pork belly with celeriac. This piece was a slightly over cooked and made the meat on the bottom a little tough, but overall great flavored in the middle of pork belly. I will go back. I’m a fan!

Food is simply delicious. Every dish is excellently prepared. The staff are super nice and definitely know a good bit and have an interest in food. As it is tapas, we ordered quite a bit. Only problem I had was my steak was rare when I ordered it to be medium! The view is beautiful and a real treat. Upstairs was a tad cold but the food and atmosphere made up for that!

Fantastic little spot for some yummy tapas in Clontarf on the seafront. Have been twice now and left a very happy cutsomer each time! The menu is really well done with some great dishes on offer!

Busy tapas restaurant opposite the Bull Wall. Went for brunch and had amazing Eggs Royale, which came with potatoes. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, it is very bright and airy and was very busy. The service was excellent and it’s a great new addition to Clontarf!

This is such a fantastic new restaurant to the area. I’m delighted as a local to have something like this. The food is very good and the menu options are brilliant. Count me as a regular already.
