Open House Dublin (OHD) is Ireland’s largest architecture festival, inviting all citizens to explore their city. It works through a simple but powerful idea: showcasing outstanding architecture for everyone to experience. Buildings that aren’t usually accessible to the public open their doors for one weekend only, with tours provided by expert guides. All OHD tours are completely FREE!
History
Established in 2005.
The Irish Architecture Foundation began life in 2005, emerging from a need identified by its stakeholders to create an agency whose sole purpose would be to develop a general audience for architecture and to engage people with their built environment. The first such organisation of its kind in Ireland, from the beginning the IAF’s commitment has been to deliver thought-provoking, inspirational and accessible events. With this prerogative in mind, our aim has been to challenge a broad public, drawn from all age groups and corners of Ireland, to think about architecture in new ways, to understand its importance in our all daily lives, and to acknowledge its ability to achieve the extraordinary.
