Moore Street Mall

5 stars for this uncommon mall where you only find international shops! It was a pleasure for me to see Balkan and polish food here, I am sure I will eat here!

This mall’s rating is controversy. If you think of what you can buy and what services you may use there, then this mall is great (in idea of non Irish groceries). If you think of a regular mall, like Ilac or Dundrum type of, you’ll be disappointed, it looks, as one reviewer said already, third rate mall.
So, go for products, but not for «walk around» and spend your time.
I won’t repeat what shops you may find them in other reviews.
Basically, get in there no matter what and try few different food stores and buy something that your eyes love or nose advises you to :-)

Similarly to the Asian Supermarket or the Polonez Polish Supermarket the Moore Street Mall is like a free trip abroad. There are few ways to actually travel to Africa and Asia simultaneously but the Moore Street Mall makes these puny matters of physics immaterial.
They have hairdresser specialising in African hair, foreign food stores, clothes shops and phone shops. Everything has a exotic foreign twist though and this makes for one of the most fun afternoons in a basement possible.
The food stores smell pretty awesome and, though I haven’t tried yet, I’m sure you will almost certainly get a lunch for next to nothing that’s absolutely delicious here.

I don’t really know what to think about the Moore Street Mall. Part of me thinks it’s cool to have a place filled with foreign shops and the other part of me wonders if I would ever really buy anything here.
There are a number of interesting markets like the Lithuanian or the Afro Caribbean one, but I would have to look up a recipe first or else I wouldn’t know what to do with the food.
The whole mall screams third rate. They could really spruce it up a bit by filling in the empty spaces or by adding a plant or two in the hallways. It’s very dark and could use a decorative touch to help you forget that you’re in a subterranean mall.

I’d lived in Dublin for twenty-​one years until I happened upon Moore St Mall, so if you’re in Dublin on a visit, you’re unlikely to stumble across it. This is partially to do with the fact that it is situated on the Parnell St end of Moore St; a lot of tourists will have a gawk at the traders on Moore St while they are shopping on Henry St, but they are unlikely to head up as far as where Moore Street Mall is located.
Another factor in this is that the Moore Street Mall is entirely subterranean, which presumably is good for keeping the overheads low but does make it quite difficult to spot.
As it does not get much passing trade, Moore Street Mall has to rely on a loyal customer base, which it has. Most of the businesses are owned and operated by recent emigrants, and nearly all of the clientele are from among Ireland’s foreign-​born population.
This makes for an eclectic mix of shops: there are clothes shops, electronics shops, one shop that seems to trade exclusively in belts and handbags, and a body-​building supplement shop that is patronised exclusively by Polish bouncers (no wonder they’re all so big).
There’s a type of mini Epicurean Food Hall in Moore St Mall as well. The food is even cheaper, but their opening hours are kind of irregular, but it really is worth as visit as the food is really good.
What with Ireland being in the economic doldrums, a number of the businesses in Moore Street Mall are closing down due to their customer base returning to their native countries, so be sure to give it a visit before it’s all gone.

Moore St Mall, located in the vibrant Moore St, is one of those places that reminds you of how much Ireland has changed in recent years. Whether you’re after Lithuanian treats or an Indian outfit, this place should be your first port of call. Unfortunately, it’s looking a bit bare recently, and the vibrancy is less, well, vibrant, but it remains a cool place to go down into and have a nose around… you never know what you may find!
With an eclectic mix of shops, and a truly multicultural flavour, this shopping centre has its finger on the pulse of the swiftly-​emerging new Ireland, replete with the intermingling of people from all over the world, as well as those desperate for a little taste of home
