History

Established in 1983.

Medicheck was established by Doctor David Kilcoyne who pioneered the concept of health screening and preventative medicine in Ireland. It is presently located at the Charlemont Clinic in Dublin 2 in a tranquil setting just beside the Grand Canal. Health Screening combines the techniques of a comprehensive medical examination using advanced equipment, together with an indepth consulation with the client to assess potential risks to health in the future. Clients can thus have peace of mind, knowing that they have had a comprehensive medical check-​up to identify any problems that currently exist as well as having the knowledge to take action to prevent medical problems occurring into the future. Executive Health Screening is the primary practice of the clinic but it is also available to anybody who wants to take a proactive apparoach to their health and that of thier family. Health Screening is covered by some insurance policies.

Doctor David Kilcoyne is a specialist medical consultant who specializes in the area of preventative medicine. He is the lead consultant at the Medicheck health screening unit at the Charlemont Clinic in Dublin. He founded Medicheck in 1983 and was one of the first to introduce the concept of preventative medicine in Ireland. Dr David Kilcoyne developed a sophisticated database which facilated tens of thousands of health screened patients’ records to be securely analysed, allowing for deep insights into medical risk factors potentially affecting both individuals and categories of patients (e.g. by profession and other lifestyle factors). Medicheck has both a male and female consultant on premises.
