I absolutely loved this place! We had lunch on a sunny October day and sat outside in the garden area. The place was buzzing with people having coffee and lunch and the setting was perfect. The staff were very welcoming and I loved the décor and general feel of the place. Very garden party meets relaxed lunch. I had the Rancheros, which happens to be one of my all time favorites so to see it on the menu was a treat! I’ll certainly be back again, have talked about it to the Mister and pointed it out each time we’ve driven past it since. Certainly worth a visit is you’re in the area.

This is a really groovy place. The interiors are wonderful, so eclectic and pretty and really uplifting and the setting is lovely. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the same way about the food. I felt the cooking was very amateurish and I the prices did not reflect the quality of the food. I had eggs benedict for main which was ok. The homemade lemonade was pretty tasteless but the coffee was nice. The special desert was a ricotta and blueberry cake which was probably one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten. It looked lovely when it came out but there was way to much raising agent in it which over whelmed every other flavour. However, the place was packed and I saw plates going to other tables which looked very tempting. Also judging by the other reviews and the crowds of people coming and going from the place I may well have just picked the wrong thing. It is a really pretty place and I can’t imagine a nicer place to sit with a coffee and a paper then their beautiful outdoor space, but this is no Avoca.

Great little café with a gorgeous outdoor seating area so if it is in anyway sunny its defo a great spot to stop off in be sure to bring the sunnies tho other wise youl end up squinting the whole meal like me ! ive gotten the eggs Benedict and the French toast, the Benedict is good but the french toast is amazing it comes with a berry compote Ive been here 3 times and the let down for the place seems to be the staff, Ive found them a bit cold when asking for drinks or the bill you kind get to feeling like your interrupting them.

Never lets me down. Such a great spot for morning coffee and chats, can’t resist their gorgeous banana bread or French toast either! Sweet whimsical décor and so much space to rare to be turned away on a weekday thankfully, I believe it gets really hectic on weekends but worth the queue! Hard for me to escape without picking up something from the cute little shop at the front, I have to look at the floor as I always spot something I want!

A lovely deli café with excellent sandwiches and sweet treats! I also love that they have fresh produce and salads for takeaway. It’s a great neighborhood spot to stop in for lunch, grab a coffee, or find a dessert for that evening. I would definitely be here more often if they had Wifi available.

The food is simple, yet delicious. The chicken quesadillas are fantastic, as are the homemade lemonades! Perfect for brunch or a weekend treat. Affordable, good value and the setting is so quaint aswell. Staff are friendly and helpful

Finally! Finally, I successfully made it in for lunch, no sorry were fulls or please come back agains, I was in! It’s adorable, cute and quirky and mismatched, all pluses in my book, and food was great. Perfectly poached eggs with a side of homemade relish. Plate-licking good.(I didn’t though, mammy raised me right, but I was almost tempted to shame her!) My only food related negative it that coffee was small, like really small — Peter Dinkilage small, but was warm and strong, as I’d imagine afore mentioned actor to be so I will let it slide! I did find the manager pretty brusque though, I know it was busy, but no need to be dismissive and unsmiling, good sir!

This place is just great — first of all they held a charity fundraiser for our doggy charity, then they always have amazing specials every day so your guaranteed not to get bored, then they accommodated our Christmas party of vegetarians and vegans. Then there is the pop up shop and Curio’s section. Bring your dog and sit in their beautiful yard … One of a kind, people of Terenure are lucky to have this place on their doorstep

Really love this place. Good food. I had the chicken sandwich a brownie and the pink lemonade. Yum! Nice relaxed atmosphere too. Can get busy at times but I like the mix of people old and young, locals and those who make the trip out to it. Looking forward to visiting when the suns out and getting to enjoy the outside seating.

A group of us went here for a 30th birthday. They were very accommodating and our group turned out to be a bit smaller than we had booked but this was not a problem. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and talked us through the menu making recommendations for food and drinks. We all opted for starters and mains, we had brought a cake which they were more than happy to serve to us when we were ready for it. It was unanimous that the food was amazing and the portions were very generous. The menu is fairly priced but you should opt for the set menu of two or three courses as this is very good value seeing as some of the mains cost over € 20. The restaurant itself is cool shabby chic with class and I’m looking forward to returning and have recommended the place to all of my friends since my visit.

Not a huge selection on the brunch menu, but the food is all homemade, hearty and delicious. You won’t get a full Irish, but you will get great service, yum breakfast and amazing coffee. Worth a visit, especially if in need of a hangover cure.

Very nice little café in Terenure. We have been for breakfast the eggs Benedict are fantastic. Good coffee tea and homemade cakes. Service can be a little bit slow because they are usually so busy. But the staff is nice. you can sit outside if the weather permits and they have indoor seating. Good place to energize with caffeine and sugar.

It was really busy here and not a good place to sit and have a meeting but I did like the feel of it. I only had the coffee and homemade scone as I was in a rush, but would like the opportunity to actually sit down, have a meal and soak up the atmosphere.

Great food, super friendly staff and fantastic atmosphere. Not pretentious or overtly hip(like too many of the city’s new eateries), just lots of comferty goodness.

Was really looking forward to a brunch catch up here recently but it was a bit of a let down alas. So I’m still in search of the best brunch in terenure/churchtown. Nice coffee, nice vibe all the same. I ordered french toast with Bacon– bacon was either not freshly cooked or kept warm for ages, and it was very very chewy. When I asked for freshly squeezed orange juice(a brunch essential in my mind) and asked the waitress if it was squeezed on site(i.e. not out of a carton). It took ages to arrive and I noted it was poured discreetly from a bottle. Grrrrrrrr. Were they thinking I wouldn’t notice?! Anyway, was with a gang of friends so loathe to complain but we all felt the same about the food– fine but not a treat in our view. But I guess we’re a fussy bunch. With a little bit more attention to detail on the food side this could be a great café.

On a weekend, rain or shine, I love coming here for a late brunch. The décor could be described as the precursor to Avoca, with the addition of an occasionally played piano as a source of entertainment. Occupied by youthful twenty-somethings, budding families, and established groups of auld ones alike, I like the community vibe and general approachability of the place(though, that being said, the place can get a bit loud — just a forewarning). The food & drink is lovely — super-fresh orange juice(which can hence run out if you’re there later in the afternoon, sigh), decent coffee, & so far I’ve been pleased with everything I’ve tried(that being the eggs benedict, breakfast in a pie, and their chicken tarragon bagel sandwich with their soup of the day). Prices are middle-of-the-road — for the two of us both getting food, orange juice, & coffee the bill tends to be just under € 30. I also went here on Halloween for one of their late-night gigs that they occasionally host, and while it definitely doesn’t have the best acoustics for a music venue, it was enjoyable. If you’re a bit out in the Southside, give it a go if this sounds like your kind of thing.

Came to Union Square at Mayfield with my ‘partner in crime’ on a Saturday. It was pretty busy so when greeted, by what seemed to be the owner/manager, we were left standing at the door for 5 minutes or so. The reception space doesn’t give a great first impression, it was a brisk autumn morning and we were left waiting literally just inside the door with people coming and going. When seated we were given a table near the door that had been free all the time. For the remainder of our stay I could see that this was common practice(leaving patrons waiting at the door when there were tables they could be sat at) … pet peeve and could easily be remedied to give a greater first impression. When seated we were each given a menu and a drinks/cakes menu for the table. On discussion with my partner about what plates to choose it became apparent that we had different menus: I had a lunch/brunch menu and he had a breakfast menu. The staff were quite busy and it was impossible get their attention, so we combined our menus and picked out a few things we were interested in on both, so as not to be disappointed when told that one of them was given to us in error. When the waiter came to take our order we were told we could order from either menu which was a relief(although surely it would have been easier for all if we had been given both or told that there were two menus). I ordered a breakfast pie(quiche style pie with bacon, sausage and pudding) and my partner bacon and poached eggs with tea for two. Tea is served in olde world tea pots with loose tea, china tea cups etc. All fitting in with the décor of the establishment — makes for a nice experience for tea/lunch. The food came and was very tasty. My partner was impressed by the quality of the bacon. For the price you would be hard pushed to greater a better breakfast in surrounds like these. a bit more attention to detail on the service and this place would be top notch.

Great little Café in Terenure which I happened by by accident. It was originally a butchers and has been very cleverly transformed into an artisan eatery. It has a simple tasty and good value lunch menu and I have also heard it does and evening menu with live theatre! Great coffee and it is going on the future brunch list

Fantastic little restaurant/coffee shop. Used to have a deli counter but thats hidden away now. Still does take away food&coffee. We’ve probably spent a ridiculous amount of money in here since it opened. I’d highly recommend the breakfast pie. The coffee is good. Caesar salad salad is amazing. I could go on and on. Tends to be packed at the weekends so definitely best to call ahead.
