Love Chinese food, love it. Had a mad craving for some one night but didn’t want to order in, not sure why, but glad I didn’t! Spotted this place that seemed good and not too far away either. All good so far! Arrived and was a bit unsure about the location as its on top of a bunch of shops, but don’t let it put you off! Inside the restaurant is lovely, staff are very friendly and welcoming too. The food, oh the food. Nicest chicken satay I’ve ever had, ever. Perfect. Everything else I’ve had since has also been great, would highly recommend and their early deals are excellent value!

By far my favorite Chinese in Dublin. I have never sit in for a meal, but I have taken away meals more than a dozen times. The portion sizes are very generous, the food is absolutely and I can expect the same quality every time I order from here. Occasionally when I think of take aways, I think of a slightly lesser quality of food, but Mandarin Castle has certainly proved me wrong. I have had different things from the menu every time I have ordered from here and have yet to have a bad meal. All of their duck dishes are delicious and their dishes with fillet of beef are out of this world. I always upgrade my dish with a side of chow mien noodles. I think my favorite meal to date would have to be crispy wontons, fillet of beef in garlic and scallion sauce and a side of chow mien noodles. I need another excuse to go back!

Nice chilled out place in the heart of Castleknock. It’s been here for as long as I can remember. Staff are very friendly, happy, chatty and do look after their customer. At first glance seems like a very formal place but it’s more so the clientele. Food here ain’t cheap but they make up for it by having set menus(go with that and you’re sorted for the evening) done up with starters, a main course and tea or coffee. Even though its quite an expensive place to come regularly, i suppose you do get what you pay for with the huge variety, authentic taste and customer service. Décor of the restaurant is very humble and does what most Chinese restaurants do without going over the top. Definite must try but taking everything into consideration there’s no authentic reason to come back in a major hurry.

I can’t remember a time in my life when this place has not been here. If longevity proves that a place is good, then this place certainly is. A stable of Castleknock. I sometimes go to the restaurant, I sometimes order the takeaway, and its always good. The restaurant upped the standard a bit a few years back when Wongs opened a rival restaurant near by, so if anything, Mandarin Castle has improved over the years. A rival takeaway has also opened nearby, but Mandarin Castle is still going strong, and is always my first choice.

I remember walking past the two lion statues flanking the doorway to this heaven for Chinese food lovers pretty much every day before I eventually ventured in with a few friends. I had the wonton soup as a starter followed by Shredded chicken in an oyster sauce… the menu is pretty long and it took me ages to decide because everything sounded great. The soup was superb and I have no words to describe the chicken, it definitely justified the price of just under 17 Euro. They also do take-out food and I’m slightly upset that I no longer live in the area because I haven’t found another Chinese as good as the Mandarin Castle.
