We were looking for a non Irish restaurant within Temple Bar(maybe a bad idea), and we discovered La Góndola, an italian restaurante with good prizes. Gondola’s envoriment and decoration is quite nice but some tables are a little bit suffocating. The food was normal, but my friends’ dishes(pizza and pasta) were spicy. My chicken Grill salad was regular taking into acount other restaurants’ salads.

A friend and I literally walked upon this while strolling the city and man, I wish I’d actually been hungry because it was a delightful little spot. It was totally empty when we arrived but after a cappuccino each(which was top notch), several more people arrived. Just the smell and look of their food convinced my friend to order the lasagne and I desperately wanted the ricotta and spinach ravioli, but had no appetite. I shared her lasagna instead and you could tell you were eating proper, basic home style Italian. It was a lovely little dish, for a great lunch price, perfect presentation, quaint atmosphere, and brilliant staff. I really want to go again.

The best lasagna bolognesa ever! Super tasty and no weird spices added. The place is cosy and the staff very friendly! 10⁄10 Thank you for a great meal. Def coming back.

We went there a little worried about the lack of customers inside but all for nothing. We ended up having a nice and good dinner. We tried the pasta and they were delicious and all for a correct price regarding the neighborhood. The staff is nice and efficient. The only negative point is thats i was really disappointed with the dessert i chose. I took the tiramisu and it was really bad, probably not home made. Left me a bad impression on the end.

Have been coming here twice a week for the past few months. I left a very positive review before and have always enjoyed it here. Always a pleasant place to enjoy a lunch and dinner. Today’s experience was a disgrace. Sending an item back caused the chef to turn aggressive and cursing in Italian and I felt very uncomfortable. I was worried he would spit in my food. He was slamming plates and saucepans. I really wanted to leave then. The recipes have all changed and the food seems like it is microwaved out of a freezer. Just as we finished the starters te mains were on the table. The famous chicken wings now have indian seasoning. This was a huge disappointment. The only thing that was not a problem was the helpful staff. I will never return here again and I am extremely disappointed that such a nice place could become so bad due to the appalling chef. I would urge people to go elsewhere. Or go here at your own risk.(the chef may really snap out sometime)

Came here with a RateMyArea voucher and got bruchetta and the La Gondola pizza for 10euro! The bread for the bruchetta was baked by them(so their menu says and I believe them) and it was a nice mix of tomato and olives. The pizza was great as well but the pesto could have been spread out more(it was just in clumps) and could have more of all the toppings(mozerella, tomatos, and pesto) as they were all only on about 6 times and its an 8 slice pizza. About the slicing, just because I got it takeaway means you can half cut it(the crust was still intact!). Service was great and really nice(insisting that I sit while I wait, giving me suggestions, actually looking happy to be there…). Also, the owner is italian, if that makes a difference.

Gondola you did me dirty. I gave you all kinds of amore and four whole stars after my first visit and the delicioso early bird. You tempted me with inexpensive vino and beguiled me with your pasta arrabiata ways. Then, when I return you became a whole new ristorante – like a Jersey Shore version of Italiano. What gives Gondola? UNE: I convince my two amici that they must go with me for the Gondola early bird special. We browse the various pages in the early bird menu for about 20 minutes and finally make our decisions. Then, just before taking our order, the waitstaff informs us that the il menu d’early bird is not valid. Just for tonight. Even though half the menu consists of early-bird-specific listings and prices. Uhhh… DUE: I ordered pasta with white alfredo sauce and asked for shrimp instead of chicken. What I got was noodles in red sauce without my scampi. I had to send it back and watch the whole table eat for 15 minutes while my order was fixed. Not even a «scuse» from the waitress? TRE: The pizzas came swimming with pools of olio d’oliva on top. Disgustoso!

Pizza here is better than most in the Bay. Something about the cheese and pork i guess. Had the hots for the waitress but me mum and me heart were in disagree. I have to also recommend the lasagna they used the choice ingredients that drove me mum to make some as soon as we got back. Rock!

We found this little Italian restaurant on our wanders to the Temple Bar area. The speciality is their pizzas, and although I didn’t have one, my fiancé did and it looked lovely. I had pasta which was really tasty. The waitresses were ok, one of them wasn’t particularly nice, so we did have to complain, but the food is definitely worth it. Not badly priced either. Definitely recommend it!
