Was so dissapointed in Hillbillys here because I love the one in Fairview. This one located right off the walkinstown roundabout is only opened a few months. We just got takeaway as theres only a few high chairs in the shop. The menu is great and has good deals at good prices but the quality of the food is awful and not like I remember. I know its fast food but the chips were cold and soggy. The chicken tasted like it was lying there for ages and was full of bones. The gravy I couldnt even explain but maybe im just too used to KFC gravy, because my mam liked it! The onion rings were like iceland soggy ones I didnt even eat them after having one bite that was enough! Il just go to KFC in future if i want some fried chicken :)

The signs of construction and a coming eatery have been there for awhile, so I shouldn’t have been surprised to see this open but I was. More surprising was that it was pretty busy almost immediately on opening. So last night I decided to give it a shot. The area is pretty well served by takeaways, and has lots of chippers, but with the notable exception of Borza, they tend lack a certain lustre. So its a pretty bold move to open a takeaway in an area saturated with takeaways and only a few feet from one of them. So Hillbilly’s is basically american style food — lots of fried chicken. They also seem to have pies, which I didn’t order this time. There are a few high stools but this really is a takeaway. I went for chili chicken breast in a bun meal, which cost about 7 euro — so certainly comparable price with the other local takeaways. However when I got it home I was happily surprised to find that it was much better quality. Everything seemed fresher and even the bread was not your packet bun usual standard. I can see why it got so busy so fast. I just hope they keep it up.
