Anything that is free has got to be worth a look at! and this is a FREE, yes FREE, tour by the really good Hidden Dublin Walks Tour Group. This tour departs at the top of Grafton Street opposite Butler’s every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 11am and it lasts two hours!
You can relive the splendour of Dublin’s gentry during the ‘golden age’ along with the desperation of the poor during a period in which slums, child labour, famine, soup-​kitchens and workhouses co-​existed with extreme wealth, cultural sophistication, idleness and elite pastimes such as ‘duelling’!
