Gourmet Burger Kitchen

I came in one evening after work while waiting for the Mister to meet me in town. It was pretty empty which was a nice thing this evening as I wasn’t in the mood for crowds.
I had a burger and chips and the service was ok, fast enough i guess.
The burger was ok by any standards (nothing special) and the chips were horrible, left over sprang to mind.
I know you can make your burger how you like it and maybe that day I just wasn’t feeling too adventurous but I just didn’t think much of it in honesty.
Might find a busier one next time and see if its a trend or just a one off experience.

Burger’s were far from gourmet. Very dry and overcooked. Kids couldn’t even eat the chicken nuggets — all breading no meat. One bright spot food wise was the onion rings. The other bright spot was the service.

Nice atmosphere nice people working here but they can not cook a burger. My burger was so well done it was like eating a cracker. It was like the first burger you cooked yourself as a kid and you pressed it down on the grill with a spatula until not a drop of juice dripped out. Then you put it on a paper towel and pressed it down again for good measure.

Tried to enjoy a classic mini burger. The thing was so dry I had to request more sauce to go with it… The server wanted to charge me extra. That’s not very pleasant considering I could have very well sent the dry burger back.
Overall– not amazed. Won’t return and will not recommend. You get 2 stars instead on 1 because the fries were eatable.

Excellent burgers, amazing onion rings, great goat cheese salad. Good casual ambiance. Great food and service.

Had the lunch meal deal for € 9.99. This nets you a starter & a burger which is pretty good but considering the burger comes with no sides, the starter is basically your side so the price is just about right.
I had the caeser salad to start and man they make this small. As a starter it’s very petite, apart from that it was nice albeit covered in dressing, there was literally a little pool of dressing at the end of the bowl. I was in a slightly gorging mood so I didn’t mind this but you might want to keep this in mind if you order this.
The burger was the Kumara veggie burger. This was nice but the abundance of bread surrounding the burger was a little unreal. The burger itself was of a decent size but considering you’re paying above average prices for a burger you’d expect it to be a little bigger. There was simply far too much bread. Again it tasted nice and was covered in 2 sauces, honey mustard & a relish, both which complimented the burger well.
Décor was fine and it was pretty busy for lunch tim. In short: the value doesn’t quite add up and the food didn’t blow me away but fine if you’re looking for a burger @ lunch time.

I went here for lunch with a student (from the US) and thought we (she) could avail of the student deal as she had an International Student ID Card.
Apparently, even with that, the deal is only for Irish students-​according to the server.
I’m afraid that left a bitter taste in my mouth during the meal, though the wings were tasty and the burgers were ok.
There are lots of burger places in the city, and unfortunately, again, it doesn’t make me want to rush back!

My third GBK was another success. Chicken Wings + Beef Burger for 10 euros is a pretty good deal. The only problem I found with this store in particular is that, if you seat at the back of the restaurant, you can hear very loudly the guys in the kitchen chopping/​cooking/​drumming in a rock back.
Anyway, I noted that they have a new milkshake (salted caramel) so I will be back for sure.

We came here after a few drinks on a Saturday.
We were promptly given a seat with no booking which was good and from the outset the staff were very friendly.
I made up my own burger and got a side of chips with a seasoned salt on them but couldn’t really taste it, needed more.
Burger was very tasty and chips were well cooked but I don’t know, something is missing from this place.
It has no wow factor but it’s a solid eat and for the price you can’t really complain.
For the reasons above I can only really give it 3 stars as its one of those standard burger places which you can’t fault, but also are not rushing back to.

Could use some work. I got the falafel burger but it was really just 3 falafel patties stuffed into a bun. I wish it would have been one large burger-​sized patty so they didn’t all fall out as I was eating them. The burger didn’t come with fries (which I thought would be a staple). I also got a small simple green salad. I was impressed by the flavor of the dressing and roasted cumin on it however the avocado was so hard that it was inedible. I couldn’t cut it with a fork or knife so I just had to leave it on the plate. Why would you even serve avocado that wasn’t ripe? I also got the greek honey and yogurt dessert which was the best thing about the meal… but unfortunately it was packaged and was not actually made by the restaurant. The service was excellent, menu was great, but unfortunately the food was lacking.

Pretty bad. Bun dry. Do not order well done burger, dried out cardboard. Chips were very average. Lettuce and veg was fresh. The burger was not eatable. Grilled chicken looked overdone as well. Gourmet in the name, but not in the reality.

Would give 2.5* so I am rounding up. Burger was mediocre. Not juicy. Bit dry and overcooked. I had the 4lb classic because I wasn’t starving. Rosemary chips were ok– they were not cooked in rosemary. It was like the rosemary was an afterthought. They should use crushed rosemary so it sticks to the chip. I prefer Jo Burger or my own homemade burgers.

I start to think that the Unilocalers are way too nice with restaurant.
About GBK I expected much much better. The normal size burger is very very small for the price (6,95e). I had the classic chicken one and look at the pic, I had 3 miserable tiny piece of chicken, and overcook by the way. My friend had another chicken burger, still overcook.
Ok the food is below than average and what about the service? The waitress literally throws to us our the table water and wasn’t very nice to us; when she saw that I was writing my review she came back and ask «everything is all right ?». Sorry but too late.
Conclusion, dont go there, there is way better if you want a burger in town.

We visited the Gourmet Burger Kitchen after walking around the Grafton st area and wanting something different than Counter on Suffolk street. This location on South Anne Street is very convenient and close to everything.
They have many different burger options — some classic, some more unusual but tempting. Although they tend to serve all the burgers and fries a la carte style (much like Counter), you can order a meal deal for 9.99 which has a burger, fries and a drink however it is limited to only their classic burger selection.
I ended up trying something more unusual — the Camembert burger (yes the cheese). Basically it is a burger stacked with a generous slice of creamy Camembert cheese, a hash brown, some other less prominent toppings as well, but this was something i have never seen before and had to give it a try. It was delicious.
I ordered this with Rosemary fries which to my disappointment were just a bowl of standard fries with Rosemary dropped right in the middle. These could have been mixed up a little better, but with a little mixing myself came out just the way i like Rosemary fries. We also ended up ordering a strawberry shake which was a large portion and creamy, but 4.50 is a little steep for a shake. It was good, but maybe not 4.50 good.
They have a few baby chairs and at the time had about 3 prams in the entrance area. They accommodate families well and even have crayons and coloring sheets to keep the young ones occupied.
Service was fast and friendly and multiple servers seem to service each table which means you get much more attention and don’t need to wait long for anything.

The healthiest burgers you’ll ever eat! Plus the chicken is certified halal! How cool is that? A bit pricey. but the food is good!

It’s a burger joint. They sell burgers and fries and beer. What’s not to like? Burgers (in this case, cheese and bacon) prepared medium unless you order it well done, which I did and it was, rosemary fries and a pint of Golden Nectar. € 20 the lot, including tip. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Fine dining it ain’t, despite the ‘gourmet’ moniker but I didn’t expect that either. No complaints. I’ll be back next time for another guilty, calorific, salty and delicious meal.

I was here on New Years night and was very much impressed with this place. There are 3 reasons to go here.
REASON THE FIRST!
These guys were open at 23.00 at night! I stopped drinking a while back and that night I needed something to mark the occasion! Something that I could tell people I did that would be a story suitable for all occasions and audiences. I went on in thinking I’d swiftly be told in a polite and professional way to get the [insert expletive] out of there. Instead I was greeted with a smile, and presented with a table for myself and my friends.
REASON THE SECOND!
Decent prices for absolutely excellent food! I had a veggie burger, my girlfriend had a classic burger and our friends had a bacon and cheese burger each. No complaints to report I’m afraid. On average, you’d spend € 14 per person and have one hell of a meal.
REASON THE THIRD!
PEANUT MILKSHAKE! I had one, it’s awesome. You should get one! Unless you’ve got a nut allergy; if you do, you should probably avoid it. Rest assured though, IT’S AMAZING!

Leckere Burger, auch in vegetarischen Varianten, für wenig Geld zumindest, was Dubliner Verhältnisse angeht. Nett eingerichteter Laden mit freundlichen Bedienungen in einer ruhigeren Seitenstraße der Grafton Street. Mit Studentenausweis (auch aus dem Ausland) gibt es 2 Burger zum Preis von 1!

Plusieurs restaurants à burger dans Dublin ! Très bon. Il ont instauré une sorte d’happy hour en fin de journée pendant lequel les frites sont gratuites. Les hambugers sont super bon, et il y a quelques plats veggie.

This place is good. Not so good I ever have a midnight «Oh my god, if I don’t get GBK soon my head will explode» cravings, but good enough that if you are out and about and no one can decide where to eat and someone throws this suggestion out, most burger lovers will say «sure».
The portions are huge. I don’t think I have ever finished one of their burgers. The dressing for the chips are top notch, I just wish they gave you more of them. And the service is fast and efficient. So all in all it is a pleasant burger joint and that isn’t a bad thing.

Oof, bit tough to review this place considering Jo’ Burger is my local stop for a burger the size of a small child. But I think that food aside, the two places do fundamentally different things. GBK is far more family-​orientated.
The last time I was there, they were more pre-​occupied with the two children at a nearby table than anything else. Although this was more for the benefit of the other diners than anything else. Like a bomb, you don’t want a bored child going off in a crowded restaurant. So they had the colouring books out for them, and kept them distracted.
The food is pretty good, with a nice variety on the menu. The only problem is that some burgers work better than others. The satay burger is a prime example. Satay-​beef: gross. Satay-​chicken: God’s food. Some of the burgers are really different and delicious (like the Jamaican) and others are just the height of meh-​ness (like the Mexican). It’s a real mixed bag, but I suppose that’s what you get trying to please everyone.

Before going on holiday I went for a burger to Gourmet Burger Kitchen. I was craving for a burger and… got a hell of a burger. Now let’s talk about it !
What is it? The idea for Gourmet Burger Kitchen originated in New Zealand. Over the last five years, the innovative New Zealand cuisine has extended to incorporate ‘take away food’ such as burgers. Where once the traditional burger was seen purely as a fast food option, gourmet burgers have knocked tradition on the head. Gourmet Burger Kitchen has created a nutritious sophisticated product using the best and freshest ingredients available.
What kind of burgers do they serve? Let me list a few names: Classic (salad, mayonnaise & relish): 6 €, Cheese (aged cheddar, salad, mayonnaise & relish): 7 €, Cheese & bacon (bacon, aged cheddar, salad mayonnaise & relish): 10 €, Garlic & mayo (fresh garlic mayo, salad, mayonnaise & relish): 7 €, Pesteralla (pesto, mozarella, salad, mayonnaise & relish): 9,75 €, Cajun (smoked chilli mayo, salad & cajun relish): 7,75 €, and so on. From 6 € to 10 €, you can select a wide range of burgers. My favourite is the Cheese burger. Even if you are really hungry, one Cheese burger is enough.
What else to they serve? While you wait you can have: Onion rings: 3,50 €, Grilled chicken kebobs: 4,50 €, Marinated mixed olives: 2,50 €, Spicy roasted broad beans: 2,50 €, Breaded mushrooms: 3,50 €, Cajun chicken pieces: 4,50 €.
Any specials? At Gourmet Burger Kitchen, they serve a selection of vegetarian meals such as: Falafel (homemade falafels with houmous, cucumber raita, fresh chilli saucec, salad & relish): 7 €, Puy lentil (puy lentils, potato, green curry, breadcrumbs, spring onion, salad, mayonnaise & relish): 6 €, Mushroom (feta, aged cheddar, pesto, rocket, mayonnaise & relish): 10 €, Aubergine & goats cheese (aubergine, goats cheese, sun-​blushed tomatoes, mixed leaf salad, mayonnaise & relish): 10 €, and Veggie & camembert (portabello mushroom, aubergine, red pepper, sweet potato, camembert, mayonnaise, rockets & onion jam): 10 €.
Any other specialty? Indeed: Chorizo (spicy spanish sausage, sweet potato, rocket, tomato, mayonnaise & relish): 10 €, Lamb (fresh lamb, homemade mint relish, mayonnaise & salad): 9,50 €, and Greek lamb (fresh lamb, humous, cucumber raita, fresh chilli sauca & salad): 10 €.
Anything else to add? Gourmet Burger Kitchen also offers a range of salads and fresh chicken breast panko bread, whatever that means, I have never tried ! Anyway, service is always good and fast.
