What is a frame? Well, essentially, it’s four short strips of skirting board nailed together to make a rectangle or square. How much could you charge for this? According to Frame Art in St. Stephen’s Green about a million quid.
A 40 cm x 50 cm frame will set you back no less than eighty of your finest euros, please. I don’t know how many euros you might have, but doesn’t swapping eighty-​odd of them for four batons of wood seems a little, how should we say, 2003?
So, don’t bother with Frame Art, a great location and a cornered market have made them bloated and belligerent with power. Come over to my place, I’ll lever some skirting board off the wall, you glue it together, bish-​bash-​bosh, a frame.
