Favourite Chinese in terms of food by far but the customer service is terrible. An absolute shame for somewhere with decent food.

The Far East in Palmerstown is kind of confusing. I sometimes love and crave the place, at other times I can’t stand it. Hadn’t been there for over a year and then a friend got slat and chilli chicken balls which got me really interested again. But then when I went back to my old favourite Hong Kong style Sweet & Sour chicken I realised why I had given up on them before. Unlike other restaurants the entire piece of chicken is covered in batter and then sliced so that two sides of the chicken piece are no longer covered. There seems to be a lot of oil gets into the chicken pieces when second frying unlike other places that have the whole piece covered. A woman who I know has good taste raved about the place recently saying that it has some of the best food she’s ever tasted. They had a very good offer, probably still there, that you can get any curry and rice/chips, long tray for 6 euro. You can’t go wrong with a chicken curry and they do a nice one. Staff friendly, on street parking not normally a problem and chilled anough waiting area. Maybe I judge everywhere with Sweet & Sour glasses on but that’s the main reason for only giving it 3 stars.
