Euro 2, that guilty pleasure on Abbey street. Like the ex you know you shouldn’t be texting late at night, before you know it it’s done! Unlike drunken dialling you won’t feel(too) guilty, afterwards. Does pretty much what it says on the tin, everything in € 2,except when it’s not. i. e even cheaper. Shampoo, iphone chargers, your body weight in sweets, crazy hats for a hen night; you’ll probably get them all in here. The also sell condoms and pregnancy test kits, which probably saves many an embarrassing trip to the chemist. Would you though? LUAS is right outside too for a quick escape. Happy days!

The 2-Euro Shop recently worked a treat when I needed to pick up Christmas decorations to beautify my house for a joyful party to celebrate to festive season at an economical price. I was delighted to see the sizeable array of decorations on offer, and like everything in this store, for a meager € 2 each. The shop really does stock a comprehensive selection of stuff that complies with the most fundamental needs of any person — all within reason of course because it never costs more than € 2, so larger(and henceforth more expensive) items like hair dryers, kettles and lawnmowers are not at hand but shampoo, deodorant, torches, bin liners, safety pins, pet food, brillo pads, paint brushes are all here in abundance. The best purchase I made was a set of 100 fairy lights for a mere € 2, made ever the more sweet having just passed stalls on O’Connell Street selling them for € 8. Before venturing there however I was mindful that it’s renowned low prices may compromise the quality. I’m not a snob by any means but I am an advocate of durability and didn’t want the decorations to look tacky. If I am honest I will admit to pre-judging this store to be lacking on account of its notability in stocking cheap goods but happily, to my surprise and exhilaration the stockpile was wide-ranging and of respectable quality.

I’ve been in many euro stores and this one is by far the best. It’s way better than the one located on Liffey Street. This shop is massive and carries a wide selection of beauty supplies, home supplies, home repair stuff(including small tools), sweets and packaged food. I was astonished by the amount of body wash, shampoo and moisturizing lotion it carries. I thought that I would have to choose from two different scents, but instead I needed to choose the brand first. It sells all the popular names such as Nivea, Johnson and Johnson, Raddox, Vaseline and Dove. All bottles cost only 2 Euro. I was so excited I bought all kinds of stuff to pamper myself. I ended up saving a lot of time by coming here. Instead of having to stop at the hardware shop, I was able to find double-sided tape here. Because it’s located in front of the Luas, I didn’t have to lug my shopping home either. The Euro Store on Abbey Street is a real life-saver.

There are many Euro Stores scattered around town but this is one of the largest and I think one of the best. There are a range of food stuffs, house hold items and toiletries for E2. Good products at cheap prices.

The décor of the Long Stone pub has been described as Lord of the Rings. The fireplaces are carved to resemble roaring faces and the furnishings have an old world, polished brass and mahogany look to them, with a great deal of comfortable nooks and alcoves dotted around the pub. Certain parts of the ground floor can be reserved for venues, as can the upper floor, which is otherwise only open on busy nights. Sadly, one of the Long Stone’s primary attractions is no longer available. One used to be able to buy beer in pitchers there-perfect for the poor and thirsty group of friends, but this is no longer done.
