Beautiful and historic building, beautifully lit at night and worth stopping for a picture. These are the Irish government buildings (like the English Parliament aka Palace of Westminster) where the Taoiseach (prime minister) and the Dáil Éireann (sort of like the US Congress) are seated. I don’t pretend to know any more than that about Irish government, but the wiki does a good job of explaining:
Much security with iron gates, armed guards, car stoppers, etc. But there’s nothing stopping you from putting your camera between the iron bars and snapping a picture!
