Computers Unlimited

I am not happy with my experience of this place. The guy on the desk was polite enough but when i asked how much it would cost to fix my laptop mini he said between € 120 and € 175.
Now i understand that it is hard to give an estimation and in many cases a bit of a risk but when they got back to me the following day they quoted € 250 and € 195 if i just wanted the information off the damaged disk.
They also charged me € 45 for the luxury of telling me this. The € 45 comes off the final price but i was astounded at the total cost and i would have preferred if they had told me that the price could go as high as € 250 and i could have made a decision whether or not to leave it there to see if it could be fixed. € 250 is almost the price of a new laptop mini so why would i pay that kind of money?
So it was a total waste of € 45. Be honest with the estimation at least then the customer has the choice of what to do. To say they they don’t know i feel is ridiculous as they are working for years with fixing laptops and computers and know how much things cost. They are getting rich on all the € 45 fees they are charging people.

My laptop fell off my desk one day (my foot caught in the cable!) and the screen broke internally. I nearly had a heart attack as it was on loan to me, so I ran down the street to Computers Unlimited holding the broken machine like it was a sick child. They were very understanding and assured me they could fix it no problem. It only took a few days and it was as good as new again, although it wasn’t a cheap job. Still, I was very impressed with the service and would go back there in a flash if I had any more computer emergencies.
