I was here with my partner for NYE. The dinner was terrible value for money. We ordered wine by the glass: mine had insects in it(6 or 7 at least), likely because the wine had been out for several days. Also my girlfriend’s wine seemed old. My steak was overcooked, dry and a terrible cut. My partner’s linguini with crab had no trace of crab at all: pasta with peas and cream would have been a more appropriate name. They are getting 2 stars only for the service and the location. Go elsewhere if you value your money and your time.

Oh I like this place. I would never usually go to a hotel restaurant for dinner but this place is really nice and the food is super. If I ever stay in this hotel I always eat in the Coda Eatery. In the summer they do great BBQ on the terrace and at the moment they are rocking a great new menu by new Chef and Pastry Chef. The 10oz Fillet steak is melt in the mouth devine and cooked to perfection. The whipped goats cheese starter is another one of my favourite dishes too as is the lemon tart with raspberry sorbet dessert. The in-house made fresh breads are too good to resist, especially the sun dried tomato rolls. Leave the diet plan at home and come and indulge and enjoy.

The Coda Eatery is located in the Gibson Hotel and offered breakfast during my stay. The service was good — and their breakfast spread was plentiful. There are two options for breakfast: Continental and Full Irish Breakfast. The price is reasonable, and the eatery is looks out onto a rooftop terrace — nice to look at while enjoying your morning cup of coffee/tea. I believe they serve dinner in Coda during the high-season too. If you’re staying on-site, it’s a safe bet.
