Always packed because the food is half decent but somehow I think people go there because it is handy and they don’t venture up the square. The one thing that puts me off this place is the attitude of the owner who thinks nothing of berating staff in front of customers and seems to have an all round basic lack of customer service.

Stopped here for breakfast before the Jameson Tour since it’s right around the corner. We were just looking for something close, and I’m so happy we found this gem! I kept it simple with scrambled eggs and toast and a cup of coffee. Their coffee was delicious as was the food. My mom, however got a croissant with bacon and maple syrup and oh goodness was it fantastic. Definitely worth the stop in if you’re in the area! Helpful staff, great atmosphere, delicious food. You can’t go wrong.

It’s hard to find it open but it worth the investigation. Excellent coffee and hot chocolate. Perfect drink supplier to sit in the public banks on a sunny day.

Really nice small café, the coffee is excellent, the design of the shop and products is beautiful and the staff are lovely.

I love this place, I must get food in here about five times a week at this stage. It’s just simple, well made food without pretension and their coffee is second to none. My only bad comment is that the seating is a little uncomfortable and I wish they opened later in the evening.

I work right next to this café. It’s pretty decent food, slightly more than I want to pay. It gets pretty packed around lunch time so beware!

We luncheoned here on a random weekday at the rush time. I did have a sandwich which was particularly good, which should warrant a higher rating, but the service is so very slow. Unnecessarily slow, and inefficient, to the point that even the lunchtime rush didn’t warrant the queue that was forming. I’m guessing if you’re in the area you trade off the quality of the food with the inevitable queue.

I’m visiting Dublin from the States and I found this little café through Unilocal! It was walking distance from my hotel(Ashling Hotel) and had a great assortment for breakfast. I went with the bacon and toast — simple for my first morning in Dublin. But If I had more time(and a bigger stomach) I would have also tried the porridge, cinnamon roll, panini, and a bagel. It all looked and smelled delicious. I will recommend the Cinnamon Café to anyone I know who visits Dublin.

As I recently moved to this part of town, I started exploring all kind of cafes and places to find our new local coffee spot. So this time we decided to give the Cinnamon café a go. As I love cinnamon on or in all kind of my food, the name was pretty convincing for me right away. We only had coffees, so I can’t review the food but it looked pretty good to me and the menu seemed quite nice, not sure how coecliac friendly they are tho-which means have to get back to give it a proper try. Besides this we had really friendly service and the coffees were good so nothing to complain about at all .We enjoyed them in their little outdoor seating area in the sun which made it an nice and relaxed afternoon coffee before my friend had to rush to work… we will be back soon.

We went here for breakfast and got the porridge, and it was so good! the portion was huge, so you definitely get a lot for your money. Everything they brought to the other customers looked amazing and the pastries smelled and looked so good! I’ll definitely go back whenever I can

Honest to god, this place is not good. I paid almost € 8 for a soggy tuna wrap, that the girl picked from the display fridge with her hand to give to me. I have eaten here a few times in the past as I’m always in the area, but never again now that there’s the pizza place beside the lighthouse, Seven Social beside Dice Bar &(a new discovery for me) Mulligans. I understand why it gets busy, cuz the locals solicitors think theres nowhere else to go. My friend went here lastweek, she asked for the milk to be changed cuz there was a hair in it, and the girl said ‘seriously?’. As in, the hair wasn’t an issue, the fact it was an issue for my friend raised eyebrows for the staff. Alarm bells right there.

Looking out onto Smithfield this is a gem of a café, with a truly impressive spread of choices. The breakfasts and pancakes are particular favourites. There is always a good range of pastries to have with your coffee — but they win on the range of smoothies and juices available. The staff can be a bit cranky though. This is by far the best café in both the Smithfield and greater Liberties area. Small update: I forgot to mention that the menu beyond breakfast — into full lunches, soups, sandwiches and everything else is vast and that everything is delicious. Regardless of what you are looking for, from health food, to vegan to guilty pleasures, up until or around dinner time, this is the place to stop in the above area — it is also worth travelling to.

I love this place. Cosy, great, great coffee, not that usual tarry, rotgut stuff that certain chains like to sell. Muffins are awesome, esp the ones with bits of raspberry in them. Have never had lunch but looks great too.

Ugh, I take it all back; funny how one rude waitress can ruin a history of good experiences. Funny, but I’m not laughing. Popped in mid-morning on a weekday for an Americano and a croissant while I waited on a friend. The be-dreadlocked woman behind the counter made eye contact but left me standing while she chatted to the barista. Rude rude rude. My pastry was tossed on a plate, my money taken and I was left again to stand, waiting for my coffee. Wow, nothing like a warm welcome on a cold morning ¡

The Cinnamon Café beats Christophe’s hands down as the nicest café Smithfield. They have three massive vats of handmade soups to choose from which change daily(there’s always at least one veggie option, and a meat stew like spicy mexican beef, mmmmm), and the blackboard mounted on the wall behind the till details the range of sandwiches, wraps and bagels that are available to eat-in or takeaway. The salads, which are 100% vegan, are provided by the excellent Blazing Salads company. The Cinnamon is ALWAYS packed during peak hours, and the tables are so tightly packed in that you may end up sharing your elbow room with a wigged barrister from the Courts around the corner, but the atmosphere is unfussy and relaxed despite the high profile clientele.
