This is now one of my favorite bars in the city center area. Prices are fed OK, the food menu is short but the food there is really good. They have different lounges, three to be more precise. The area downstairs at the back is perfect for a big group party. We had our Xmas drinks there and everything went really well. At some point the music was a bit too loud but no big deal about it

The interesting interior, rich history & friendly service is actually better than the food, bar the Guinness stew. My fish & chips were GREASY! Unedible. The oil was old. The fish soggy. The service was friendly and helpful. The beer cold & crisp. The outdoor seating was full of smokers so we sat at the bar. Immaculate restrooms.

Great spot for late night drinks with stellar music upstairs and a fun crowd. Can only speak to the main upstairs bar. Stopped in twice on a 3 night stay in Dublin.

Bruxelles is an after work type pub, that serves pretty good though somewhat predictable pub faire. There’s no Scottish Eggs here, but if you like Fish ‘n Chips for € 13.95, Bangers ‘n Mash for € 11.95, or Shepherds Pie for € 12.95, then this is your place. There’s also a loud dance pub downstairs, but we were happy to sit outside on the patio and watch the comings and goings beyond the plexiglass. Free entertainment as they say. LOL We enjoyed both the Bangers and Shepherd’s Pie(photos) mentioned above on our visit, along with a pint of the dark stuff. It was tasty and hit the spot. We paid with our new chip card and then it was off to Grafton Street to walk off our meal. LOL. Lots of street performers that night and lots of fun. Love this area. So Three Stars, A-Okay!

The staff is fantastic. The Shepard’s Pie is a must try and Bulmers is the shit. I would go back to Ireland just to eat here.

Not a bad place. Your general Irish pub. They got our order wrong once but it was no trouble to fix it. We got fish and chips and my sister had ordered salmon cakes but it was gross so she changed to fish and chips. It was a little bland but the flaking and the freshness of the fish were awesome. Close to the hotel we were in but probably not worth the thirteen euro a person.

Ah Bruxelles. The place I tend to end up when the pubs are closing, but I fancy a night cap. The rock bar downstairs is the place you’ll usually find me. The music is great, the beers are surprisingly good(plenty of craft in bottles), and the décor is top notch thanks to a recent renovation. If you manage it, grab the snug, and admire the picture of Phil Lynott on the wall. Beware though, if you are tall, you will have issues with the bathroom. They were built into old storage tunnels under the street, and weren’t designed for standing up in! And hey, if you happen to pop in for a few drinks, make sure to say hello to Phil Lynott’s statue which is just outside the door.

Not my first time in Dublin but my first time in Bruxelles. Haven’t a clue how to pronounce that but never worry. Seems to be a good spot. They serve what seems to be great food(hasn’t arrived yet) going by their menu and the waiter we have is a nice chap. It’s in a great location too, Westbury hotel, Grafton Street etc are all within a stones throw. I’ll let you know about the food when it gets here… Had the burger and chips and it was fantastic! Filled a massive hole so I would definitely recommend that if you’re here. Was that hungry I forgot to get a photo of it for the review! So yeah in short, if you’re about Dublin and feeling hungry call into Bruxelles. You’ll not be disappointed

Central, good atmosphere, always pretty packed. Beware though if you are planning on paying by card you must spend a minimum of € 20. There are no signs up to advise customers of this and given the fact that this is a bit excessive I would advise signage. I mean it just removes that awkwardness at the bar for all concerned!

One of the oldest pubs in Dublin, located in the shopping district, center of Dublin. Once you step into the pub you feel that you are going back in time about 100 years, the wood floors, wood walls with antique decoration and the smell of Guinness create that ambiance. The pint of Guinness was poured perfectly and the beef stew here was cooked to perfection, served with mashed potatoes and a boiled potato. One thing about traveling to Ireland is potatoes, there is never a shortage of them. Our friends had the 3 way salmon which consisted of a thinly sliced cured salmon, salmon cake and a pan fried salmon. It looked amazing, something that I may consider next time. One of the best pubs in Dublin 2 that you must visit.

I just love this pub. I think it’s because they serve up a good bloody mary but I’m not sure. I’ve been here multiple times over multiple trips to Dublin. It’s like it is the center of my universe for one reason or another. Service is friendly and the turnover of patrons is pretty good which means if there isn’t a table available when you arrive, there will likely be one available shortly. Bruxelles is a good pub and it’s located right off Grafton Street, so it’s an easy place to pop into when you need a break from shopping or walking or touristing.

On our most recent trip to Ireland we found this place. I was on a mission to find the best Beef and Guinness Stew in Ireland. We traveled from Dublin to Kilcar and on to Galway. After Galway we motored down to Dingle, from Dingle we drove to Killarney for a few days and then back to Dublin. I had Beef and Guinness Stew at several pubs in the towns we stayed in. I know its not a scientific study, but Bruxelles, defiantly had the best tasting Beef and Guinness Stew that I could find in Ireland. I will continue my search on our next trip. Cheers! On a more serious note, United Airlines SUCKS, 36 hrs. Lax to Dub AYFKM.

Boy — there’s a real neat ambience to this place with the upstairs and downstairs areas. I’d love to check the place out on a night when they have music, but alas, I wasn’t so lucky when I dropped in. Got the beef stew, which was extremely rich and savory. They’re plenty generous on the servings here. Soda bread is what you might get from the store, so I didn’t go crazy for it but it’s nice to snack on while you wait. They’ve got a great selection of craft brews downstairs, more than I’d expect to see in most places in Europe, and a pretty good selection of liquors as well. Everyone’s friendly, and the food and service is exceptionally fast. This is a great place to dive into on a rainy day.

Very odd to have a cash-only bar these days, yet, that’s what you have with Bruxelles. Leaving that aside this is an old pub — but not Old as in a bit ‘Orish’ and traditional, more old as in it has been around for a very long time but has always managed to be one of the slightly cooler(read: rock) bars in the city — it has a slightly alternate vibe and(for the most part) clientele. Great place to hang out with a reasonable(not brilliant, but reasonable) selection of beers on tap. wine served is of the quarter bottle, don’t-ask-for-anything-more-than-red-or-white, variety.

It’s wednesday evening, it’s late, and I’m walking down a dark and surprisingly empty grafton street, as we turn the corner towards Bruxelles. There’s a variety of people outside having pints, from people in their work clothes, to tourists, to guys who look like they belong in a punk rock band. We slide through the people, and sneak down stairs(ok, we didn’t sneak… we just walked down the stairs)… and BAM, IT’S ZODIACSESSIONTIME! From what I’ve been told, I think they only do Zodiac sessions on Wednesdays, but I highly recommend going! It’s like an open mic night… ok, well it IS an open mic night, ha ha. Each group/person/band goes up and is allowed to play three songs. Then you have a short break as the next band starts up. It was a really great way to see a variety of musicians and differing types of music. The venue is really neat as well. Because it was Wednesday, the basement where they were performing wasn’t particularly packed, so there was a seat for everyone. I was very happy about this after having worked all day. They also have speakers well placed so even if you can’t see the stage, you can clearly hear what they’re playing. And you seriously get a very good mix of people, which makes it so interesting! The only thing I would change, is that it would be nice if there were two nights a week they offered it, even if it was on a Sunday. It’d be nice to go in and listen to music when I wasn’t so tired after working. Either way, will definitely be back again in the future. Great way to hear new bands, and do something a bit different then just sit around on Wednesday.

Zodiac Sessions on a Wednesday — amazing singer song writers ! Such a good night there last week will be making this a regular thing for sure. It’s an open mic night so lots of young new talent. The quality of the acts was amazing and Jazz who organises it does a brilliant job. Great to see new raw talent getting a platform. The basement in Bruxelles is also the perfect place for this not too big and you can pop in and out for different acts. Highly recommended.

Out on a Saturday, we had one pre-dinner drink and then fair few post-dinner drinks here. We started off in Flanders Bar where the music went from classic rock to very heavy to mainstream rock. A bit for everyone here. We then moved to the Zodiac bar as it had become a tad too loud for our conversation to be heard when the DJ started his set in Flanders Bar. Here the music was recent mainstream indie rock and at an easier level. It was also very comfortable and not jammed with people. In the Zodiac bar, the guy working the floor was on the ball and kept all the tables cleared of empties. He also jumped in quick when a pint was spilled. All this and he still had a smile on his face. The bar staff were good too, efficient. Toilets could be a bit nicer though. All in all, Bruxelles has a bar type for most people.
