The Ambassador Event Centre has a long history of entertainment, as assembly rooms, a cinema, a concert venue, and an exhibition hall. Apart from showing many classic films and hosting countless bands over the years, The Ambassador has recently housed a number of exhibitions, including Bodies, CSI: The Experience, Dinosaur Encounters, Game On, Princess Exhibition, and Santa’s Playland, Lego art exhibition The Art Of The Brick, Terracotta Warriors, along with corporate events. Revolution 1916 is currently running at The Ambassador. The venue is also available for hire.
History
Established in 1764.
The building which is now The Ambassador was constructed as part of The Rotunda Hospital in 1764, as an assembly hall and social rooms. Throughout the years, it has been a theatre, a cinema, a concert hall and live music venue, and is now a beautifully preserved and historic exhibition hall.
