I did it… I took the leap. I left Vodafone and joined 3 (my fiancé has been going on at me for ages to change… unlimited data you see).
I went in with my ID and a proof of address. Marcelo did everything really quickly. I had to kill 15 mins while my application was being approved and it was all ready when I came back. He took care of cancelling my contract with Vodafone and transferring over my number. I just had to wait for the SIM to activate and I was good to go. That took about 4 hours and I was able to continue using my old SIM in the meantime.
As a bonus I am now able to use the 4G network now, which I wasn’t able to with Vodafone. Wahoo!
So far so good. I can’t fault it yet. I say yet because I am anticipating a pitfall or two to rear its ugly head…

Sold me a dodgy phone and refuse to replace it. Post sales service woeful. Won’t even listen to me. Avoid the 3 network at all costs.
