Friendly and fast, you will find the traditional options for breakfast here. I like especially that you can choose from a full fry to cereal and actually choose the items that go in your plate. Vegetarian? No problem, just select your favourite items, the mushrooms are very good! Super recommended for a late morning, lazy Sunday breakfast.

While in a taxi from the airport in March I was told a tale of Americans, Crumlin and breakfast rolls. The best breakfast rolls in Dublin, the taxi man tells me. Intriguing… do go on, I say to the taxi man. Two Americans had a few hours layover in Dublin. One had told the other of the legendary breakfast roll he had only ever experienced while visiting Ireland a decade ago. It was a must have experience, he convinced his buddy. So together they had resolved to find the best breakfast roll in Dublin and jumped in a taxi. Using their sources(internet or otherwise, I am not sure), they told the taxi man to bring them to Matt The Rashers in Crumlin. Over 200EUR was spent on this round trip, including the cost of the three rolls ordered(one for the driver too, how nice). So obviously I had to try this breakfast roll for myself. While it didn’t blow my mind, it was grand. Very filling. Good value too.

I dot get all the fuss. Yes it’s cheap and the staff are friendly but it’s an average breakfast like you’d have in most cafes. My mam had the breakfast she said it was ok but she’s so thirsty all day because the bacon and pudding where so salty. I had a chicken wrap that barely had anything on it and a small amount of chicken I would have made better at home. And I’d buy a fry next time at spar and make it at home ;)

Friendly, fast, good value and really tasty. The menu has a good bit of variety as well as the(rightly) lauded fry up variations with options such as coddle and Irish stew well worth a mention.

Want breakfast? This is breakfast. They do takeaway breakfast rolls too, and quick so there’s no hanging around.

If your looking for a hangover cure, well as close as your going to get, then come here. Matt the Rashers is the undisputed king of the greasy spoons! Situated right the middle of Sundrive road this Dublin institution has seen many a sore headed patron’s ills cured with a hearty fry up. The morning I, stumbled, in I was met with a cloud of smoke, friendly no nonsense service and after a short wait the best breakfast roll i’ve ever tasted. Cheap as chips to boot. Parking in available across the road in Superquinn as you probably won’t want to face the turn onto the main road.
