Seriously one of my fav bars! A slightly alternative location where quiet nights are awesome because of the couches and candle light. Busy nights are fun and loud. On weekends they create a little dance floor and play all sorts of music for different tastes(read not pop or R&B). If you are looking for something a little different this is the place to go. Just walk down the alley from hillbillys

Realising that the students in the first few years of college tend to be the ones with the least concept of how much they can drink before falling over or throwing up all over your new floor covering — but not wanting to alienate the valuable student euro completely — the Quad has reached something of a happy compromise in its strict over-21s policy. Catering mainly to post-graduates and post-students of an indie/rock leaning, the Quad’s floorspace is generally packed out from Thursday through to Sunday nights, helped by their live DJ at the weekends, as well as their friendly and cheerful barstaff. A lively and varied clientele, never-mainstream music policy and rough-and-ready interior design(without the traditional crowd of badly-behaved young students) combines to make this alternative nightspot a favourite of the newly-jobbed or newly-degree’ed rocker ex-students, as well as a default pub in the late-night circuit of the older Cork indie and rock crowd due to its late weekend bar license.
