The Moderne has been owned & operated by the O’Dowling family since 1913, and the Bridal Department has recently moved into dedicated new premises on French Church Street.

We carry a range of gowns from a variety of designers to suit every bride’s style, including Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee, Ronald Joyce, Sottero & Midgley and Special Day. Our stock also includes a great range of bridal dresses for curvy brides up to size 36, designed with shape and comfort in mind.

Our bridesmaids range is made to order and available in a wide variety of colours from designers such as Alexia, Kenneth Winston and Special Day.

We stock a great selection of comfortable designer shoes in a range of styles and heel heights from Paradox Pink and Rainbow Club. Many of these styles can be dyed to order, making them perfect for bridesmaids and formal wear, as well as a great way to re-​use bridal shoes.

We also stock a large range of tiaras, headpieces & veils and a wide selection of jewellery and other bridal accessories.

Seasonally, we stock a great range of communion dresses and accessories, as well as a carefully chosen selection of debs dresses, shoes and clutch bags.

With the benefit of a private fitting area and expert advice from your dedicated consultant, we aim to help each bride find their ideal dress with ease and enjoyment. There is no charge for an appointment with one of our consultants.

Situated in the heart of Cork City, The Moderne Bridal has been helping generations of women find their perfect wedding dress for over 100 years.

Our store sits just off Cork’s main shopping thoroughfare, partially housed in a 19^th century Methodist church. Set over three luxurious floors, The Moderne Bridal provides an elegant and comfortable space for brides to find their perfect dress.
