Clonsilla Blinds

I usually prefer to keep my business local and having used several other companies in the Coolmine/​Clonsilla area I decided to go with Clonsilla Blinds to fit a new kitchen blind. When I went in they were extremely helpful and the woman I spoke to gave me a sample to take away, in exchange for a fiver that I’d get back on return, to put up against my kitchen wall to see if it worked. Later I rang to order the blind and would be told they would come twice, once to measure and once to fit.
While we were measured the guy recommended a friction (with a chain) blind, I dislike these so I called in two days later to specify I wanted a pull blind with a tassel. I also gave back with the sample and agreed with the woman in that day that the balance would be charged less the five euro.
A few days later they came to fit it and put it up with a chain. Thankfully they had a spare pull cord and they managed to do it properly but without the tassel I ordered. Two hours later I got a call asking for payment, I told her I would pay when the job was done but was told this wasn’t good enough because the books have to «balance today». I relented but told her I wasn’t happy, then I discovered they charged me the amount including the fiver.
I called back to ask for a refund to my card and they refused, telling me I’d get it in cash when they returned on Tuesday at 12, I work full time and don’t have the ability to wait at home for people who can’t do the job properly the first time. When I told the person on the other end of the phone «I guess I don’t have a choice», she replied «guess not».
I definitely won’t be using this crowd again. No company should ask for payment for an unfinished job and if you are going to have so many different people working for you, maybe they should tell each other things such as, what the customer wants? Just an idea.

Clonsilla Blinds is located in Coolmine Industrial Estate in Clonsilla D15.
They make tailored blinds from scratch for bedrooms, dining room, living rooms on a given measure of the window.
Into their shop/​show room there is in display all types of blinds and colour samples.
Prices are at different range depending on what the blind is needed for and the material (fabric or pvc for example).
I went there with the measure of my window and I choose for the colour and thread. Also I asked for a thermal blind so that it could be warm in winter and fresh in summer.
They also provide installation service (paying a little extra, I understood at 20 Euro as I had being given this discount because I told them I was going to fit it myself) but it is not difficult to install it on your own. However I would have probably chosen the installation service for several reasons:
1. The blind was almost 3 meters in length so I had to find a way to put into my gf car which is an small car :-D
2. despite not being so difficult to fix it, it took me almost 1 hr to understand how to fix properly. So it worth it to ask them to install the blind.
The way it works in purchasing a blind from them is simple. You give them the size of your window (please double check or triple check the measures of the window) and choose the colour and type. Then they tell you the price. If you are happy with it they write you an order invoice. You have to pay in advance and then in a 2 – 3 days (sometimes I suppose more if they are busy) you get a call from them that the blind is ready to collect. Otherwise if you paid for the installation they will go to your house and install it.
If you pick it up don’t forget to bring the invoice with you otherwise I think it will take more time to prove you are the one that paid for the order.
The shop it is not so big and the staff often is busy looking after the customer so you must harm of patience and wait for your turn. Parking space available in front of the shop but there is also plenty of space around the premises in common with other shops.
Staff I met either when I ordered and when I picked up the blind was polite and professional.
In the first visit I would say that maybe the sale assistant she could have been a little more warmer or maybe giving us a little more friendly approach.
There weren’t other customers into the shop so I wouldn’t mind to have had a chat like «where are your from?» or «Do you live in this area?» or «how did you find us». The service was professional and polite as I said but without personality or interpersonal skills. However this is just my personal opinion and it doesn’t influence with the service and the quality of their items.
