Oh dear big mistake — went in here to have a desert & hot drink before a movie @ the IMC opposite recently and the good was: the early grey tea & the apple pie, the bad was the hot chocolate(watery & tasteless with token mini marshmallows) and the ugly was the supposed lemon meringue pie — had a weird taste. The management really need to up their game & standards

A very nice place to hide from the weather. It is right next to all the busy shopping streets and is a really cosy/cute place. It seems to attract couples and families. There is two floors, so you can sit downstairs looking out the window or upstairs and people watch the ones entering the shop. Food is nice and they have a soup/sandwich combo that is great value for money!

For me a good café has two things great customer service and good food. Lucky for The Sunshine Café because they have both! I marked one star off because the inside could use a little upgrade but all in all one of the best in the area

On Saturday afternoon after a 5 K run at Marlay Park, I took the bus from there to Dun Laoghaire. It was a long trip in 75bus. After I arrived to Dun town, I walked and I found the place. It was a cozy, cool, and friendly coffee shop. Nothing compare to big chains where coffee is sometimes watery and so creamy. You are a number and then a name in the plastic cup you got at the end after passing for the cashier. The place is nice, people are friendly, at night time during weekends you can listen some music and have a lovely dinner. It’s a nice place to have a chat, without too much noise.

Great bright spot for breakfast. Wifi for those days when I need a place to work away from my office. But today ??? The music is cranked up so loud(and I LOVE my music loud) for the past hour that it’s clearly set for the distraction of the staff — and not for the comfort of the customers. I’ll have to move on …(Staff could use a little more«sunshine» as well. Efficient enough but not that«happy».).

This was our first time eating out on the town of Dun Laoghaire. My husband and I decided to try this little café out for lunch. We shared the ham and cheese panini and a BLT on ciabatta bread and they were awesome! Also shared their fudge cake and coffee cake. Delicious! If we had more time we would love to come back here. The service was nice, people were very nice.

One of my favorite places Dun Laoghaire for lunch. Great atmosphere. Excellent service. Brilliant food. One of the first places I went to on my Dun Laoghaire lunch adventure was Sunshine Café on Georges Street. As soon as you walk in you are struck by how cosy it is coupled by the difference in the age groups. You get a mix of artsy students from the nearby college, a builder here and there, a few business men tucking into the Times and sometimes the odd elderly couple who seem to be meeting up on the sly. I wont say what group I fit into. I got the open char-grilled chicken sandwich, served with a salad and washed down with a coffee. Sandwich was fantastic, just what I wanted. Great bread, and packed with chicken. € 8.50. The magic number in Dun Laoghaire. The coffee was the best I have had in Dun Laoghaire. Seriously, try it. Somebody previously mentioned something about the Fixx beans. Whatever it is, it makes a remarkable cup of coffee. Hence why I am remarking on said coffee. While I am new in this job, I spend a few minutes every day trying to find somewhere new to eat in Dun Laoghaire, and everyday I have to convince myself not to take the easy option and choose Sunshine Café.

This place is so cozy and sunny as the name suggests. It reminds me of a small parisian jazz café you might find in France or Italy. I always come here for lunch, I love getting a good soup and this place always has new flavours on the menu(yay to pea and ham) and the prices are great as well. The service is great, really friendly staff, quick service and everything we have had on the menu(which is most of it) has been really good, great portions and so satisfying and filling. A great place to go with a friend or partner, or even alone at lunch, bringing a book or magazine and enjoying the atmosphere. I love little places like this

I was looking for one of two other cafes but decided to pop in here thanks to the lovely name and the cheerful exterior. The waitress wiped off some water rings on my table without me having to ask, which was really nice. The bruschetta was delish, and just enough to take the edge off my lunchtime rumbly tummy. The fire door to the back garden was open and I had a peek out there after using the loo –the back garden is alovely space but looks unused and unkempt, which is a pity. It’d be ideal on a nice day. This is a little gem of a café.

I went there this morning after passing it in the car. The main reason I wanted to go there was the little flower boxes inside the window, cutest things ever! I ordered coffee and porridge with honey and banana, and my Dad ordered coffee and scrambled eggs with toast. My Dad was very impressed with his scrambles, didnt even have to add his own pepper! Mine was nice, but maybe a bit too runny for porridge, but tasty none the less! The interior is gorgeous, bright and fresh, with lemon yellow walls, and plenty of plants and flowers. The bathroom is passed the kitchen, and i always love a place that allows you to see into the chefs, it means they have nothing to hide! We didnt have time for desserts, but i will definitely be back in the near future to sample some, the ones on display looked delish!

I found the Sunshine Café several months after moving to Dun Laoghaire, and it quickly became one of my favourite places for a late breakfast or lunch on a weekend. On Sundays they have a guitar duo performing live(and not loudly, which is nice), and at other times the background music ranges from a local radio station to Van Morrison to jazz. The staff are cheerful, seem to have genuine smiles, and know that I always like a glass of water with my lunch. One of my favourite meals here is the seafood chowder; it’s lightly creamy, and full of large chunks of fish and vegetables. On the side, two pieces of soda bread. Delicious! I think I’ve also sampled most of the items on the menu, and while there are a few that aren’t really to my taste or done in a style I like, if I was an octopus with thumbs I’d give the café 8 thumbs up.

Simply great. A delightful little spot with good solid fresh food. We went for brunch. My wife had a yummy irish breakfast, my daughter had a heaping portion of porridge(with bananas and honey), and I had an open faced chargrilled chicken sandwich(Mmm!). Everything was really good„ super chill, as well. The space is airy and pleasant. Pretty informal — people seemed to be very comfortable there eating with there families or just sipping a coffee with a good book.

A bright ray of sunshine in the heart of Dun Laoghaire’s Georges street. Such a delightful find. I frequented here almost daily last year when I was in the area. Good, honest homemade food at reasonable prices — need I say more? Perfect for breakfast, brunch, light meals or snacks. The staff are always friendly and chatty.

Called the Sunshine Café and it is. Not that many spots in Dun Laoghaire where you can sit in the sun and enjoy a good breakfast. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much problem. Food is good and good value also. I can sit outside with my coffee and they happily bring water for Pepper. I am a regular!
