The Green Isle Hotel… its not the champagne lifestyle for lemonade money and not for once does it present as mutton dressed as lamb either. The price for a stopover is cheap and cheerful if you are out this neck of the woods and looking for somewhere to lay your head down for the night. They have ample free parking and free wifi. The barstaff are quick, well mannered and extremely patient judging by some of the interactions i witnessed between them and the customers at the bar. As its Christmas party season there were plenty of youths adorned in their Sunday best enjoying themselves with young lads chasing girls throughout the corridors — who were practically tripping over themselves in heels higher than the passengers on snoop dogs tour bus until 5am. We didnt mind too much because we were drunk/awake anyway but if you have small kids dont go crying when they cant sleep here due to noise levels in the corridors and hallways at this time of year. There are security policing the hallways probably more of a necessity than for peace of mind judging by some of the reactions between themselves and the clientelle we could hear through our door. «Oi wasent smokinnnn in mee room so i dunno what yer effin sayin pal» its hardly good enough to make overheard in dublin but it was overheard all the same. The room was clean and pleasant which is all i really expected. We hit up the vending machine on our way to the rooms for some bedtime snacks but € 4 for haribo? Hardly as cheap as the winter wonderland display sat above them :-)

A bit disappointed. The staff was wonderful and the lobby we’ll appointed, but I feel our room was atrocious. No other way to put it. The furniture was very worn and had scratches and large chunks out if it. The wall behind the door had a huge hole in it, yes a hole in the wall!!! The tv was fine but small and from the 80’s. It seemed dirty and stained on the carpets! The beds were fine but with the disrepair of the place I wonder how clean they were. The restaurant had STAINED velvet chairs which totally turned us off and we were anticipating the worst but thank goodness the food was surprisingly very good. The staff is so nice and helpful I feel bad with such a scathing review but the rooms are dismal.

I have stayed here a few times and its really great value for money and so handy. The hotel has a nice comfortable bar and lounge a area for eating and a section with swimming pool and gym. Staff are all friendly and do as much as they can to help you out. For what u pay 55 euro a night double room its perfect i have used this hotel as a place to stay on a night out a few times actually worked out cheaper then taxi s and rooms are big comfortable and have tv with plenty of stations for the time u would spend using them. So really the only complaint i would have is the fact its confusing finding the entrance into the front section of the hotel if you dont know the area well. Other then that i cant think of a reason not to stay its close to shopping pubs places to eat and free parking and its cheap.
