If you“re anyway near Clane check this place. Deadly food, lovely service.

Lovely restaurant, awful location. No I’m not talking about Clane but the carpark that this restaurant is hidden in. Blink on the main street and you will most likely drive past the enterance. Location aside this place is a gem. It has a lovely bistro style interior, friendly staff and the food is always great. The menu items change slightly every few months to keep regular visitors from getting bored. If you are like most people though you will go for their speciality pizzas(lots to choose from) which look great and i love the big chopping boards they sit on. Zest gets busy at weekends so bookings recommended.

Had lunch here today and everything was really good. All fresh ingredients. I ordered from the special board, Cajun chicken burger and my friend had Fish and chips. Both were really tasty. I had lemon tart which had a crispy crime brûlée type top and it was really good and my friend had tiramisu which the waitress said had been recently added to the menu. The tiramisu was one of the best we had tasted and a good generous portion. Will be going back soon.

I have eaten here a couple of times and I like it. The food is always good and the staff are very friendly. On Saturday night I had the black pudding and poached egg for starter and my girlfriend had the chorizo salad. Both tasted great. For mains I had the fish and chips which I really like. I «shared» the bread and butter pudding for dessert which I was slightly disappointed with as I know a place that does a great one and this wasn’t anywhere close. Apart from that everything we had a lovely meal!

I had an enjoyable lunch, the steak sandwich baguette. It was a a bit fatty but generally tasted good. Good portion of fries with it too, I was stuffed! Nice friendly staff too. .

I came here so ravenous that I could hardly speak. And it took a good while for our food to arrive. We were also quite cold but then again, it was snowing outside. The staff were accommodating as two of us asked for plain veg instead of the vegetable gratin and one of the girls got gluten free bread instead of the bundy and she cheekily asked if she could have half Greek salad and half chips with her meal and they gave her full portions of both. The food was delicious but I was still hungry afterwards. It was my own doing as I didn’t have any carbs. I was speaking to a woman later that day and she said: «Zest aren’t exactly known for their country portions. Did you not tell them you’re from Newbridge?» I may have been tempted but I didn’t have dessert. They had a wonderful variety of teas. We all had the Moroccan Dusk tea even though we thought it was called Moroccan Dust. And I scoffed a Nakd Bar as soon as I got back to Newbridge.
