Skye Serpentarium

The serpentarium is a fantastic place to visit — and I don’t like snakes!!! I thought it would be terrifying and I would hate it, but the kids wanted to go. In the end though I loved it — I actually touched a snake. And held one.
The staff are fantastic and are very knowledgeable. They can tell you all about the snakes, where they were rescued from, what their habitat would be in the wild, their diet, how often they eat and a hundred other things you never realised before that you wanted to know about snakes. But for me the most memorable part was actually handling a snake, and the power and beauty of that creature is not something I’ll forget in a hurry. And if you’re wondering — no, snakes don’t feel slimy in the slightest!
