The Ocean Bar and Hostel is located at Main street, Ballybunion, County Kerry.

We are the only hostel in Ballybunion and have our own Pub located downstairs.

We are a two minute walk from the sea and miles of golden sandy beaches. We offer a variety of room types from private ensuites to dorms.

History

Established in 2014.

The newly opened Ocean Bar and Hostel opened its doors in June 2014 after a major refurbishment.

Having taken a year long career break traveling around the world. Uinsean spent many nights in various surfing locations staying in different hostels.

Often meeting new people and hearing their diverse stories over a beer at night, something that he felt was missing in his own home town.

Upon his return home he had an itch to replicate the same sort of hostel he had stayed in during his travel’s and felt they was a need for this same type of accommodation where fellow minded travelers could meet and chat cheaply in his home town of Ballybunion.
