Dillons was another dinner stop while we waited for things to happen at the office. Unfortunately, service was pretty slow — I think there was literally one waiter for the entire place, which was too bad. My seafood chowder was very good, better than Crockett’s on the Quay. A thin cream broth with a huge helping of shrimp, fish, and mussels, plus nice vegetables. I’ve only had two examples so far, but this is easily the best. I could eat a lot of this. My beef curry was tasty, but lacked some of the punch I hoped it would have. It had plenty of beef, but I think could actually have sacrificed some in favor of more veggies, and the papadum it came with(nice touch) was brushed with butter… lots of it… which wasn’t really necessary. I also wish it had been spicier… maybe«hot» isn’t as hot here as it is in other places. So I might try something else if I returned. They have a really cool courtyard/patio — but only a few tables. I don’t know why we chose to eat inside, I supposed because we weren’t offered outside. Maybe given reduced staff they weren’t trying to spread people out between patio and dining room. It was a very nice evening, so I am surprised the place wasn’t a mob scene. Finally, the menu was eerily similar to Market Kitchen — even down to gluten free and vegan labels, making me wonder if it was the same owners? Prices seem similar, but I can’t remember exactly. One other diner had basically the same steak I had at Market Kitchen, but I think the M.K. variant looked a little tastier. Either way, I’d return here, but probably order something other than the curry.
