There are 6 food stalls here(sort of a food court) but the food is not made in a factory & shipped here. All the food is traditionally made. One has Dim Sum and one is actually locally famous. They are all individually/family own. So this also means not all the stalls are not always all open. At 3pm on a Sunday(now) there are 8 customers here and only 3 of the stalls are open. Come check out the traditional food here. But come during meal times. BTW, everything is in Chinese.

The Wong Nai Chung Cooked Food Centre is a real find right in the middle of my own neighborhood. Situated on top of the Wong Nai Chung wet market, the Cooked Food Centre is a noisy, lively open area, with plastic chairs and tables shared by a number of restaurants. A fun and tasty experience for locals and tourists alike! We recently visited Gi Kee with visiting friends, so this review will concentrate on our excellent experience there. When you walk in you are instantly lobbied by the competing restaurants to come sit and eat with them, but there were a few dishes I was anxious to try, so we went with our original plan of Gi Kee. We were ushered over to our table by an extremely friendly waiter, who immediately offered a high chair for our friends’ son — something that doesn’t even happen in many of the best restaurants in Hong Kong! The staff was helpful and fun throughout the meal, and really added to the experience. Speaking of experience — the food! Wow. I really did not expect to be so knocked out. In fact, two dishes were so good that I barely remember what else we ordered(though it was all quite good, so that is not an indictment of the other dishes). The two standouts were the Fried Chicken with Garlic and the Fried Pork Neck. The chicken was unbelievably flavorful, tender and crispy. No one at the table could get enough of it. I felt similarly about the fried pork neck — crispy, rich and served with a spicy dipping sauce that complemented it perfectly. Topped off with some large bottles of cold Tsing Tao, and that’s about as good as it gets in my book. The food was fabulous, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was fun. I can’t wait to go back — and that will be soon because it’s right down the block!

The Cooked Food Courts throughout Hong Kong are true gems that should be tasted. Simple, noisy, relatively cheap, and delicious. We visited here with some vegetarian friends and had a great time. All of the food was tasty, the beer was cold, and my wallet wasn’t much lighter at the end of the night.
