Great buffet! They have pretty much anything you want(or don’t want) for breakfast. They have a huge bread and sweets section. They have an omelette station, as well a juice station. There are traditional breakfast items like cereal and French toast, as well as more unconventional items like falafel, dumplings, and other foods. They didn’t really have any variety in cheese or offer cream cheese. The restaurant itself is beautiful.

Good choice of food. Lobster claws, Alaskan crab legs, shrimp cocktail. Must try the hainan chicken. delicious. Plenty of dessert choice.

The Market is the best buffet I’ve ever come across, one of the only ones I’ve eaten at where the food is as tasty as it is varied. My family and I stayed at Hotel Icon for four nights, and we ended up eating here three times, once for dinner, and twice for breakfast, which was included with our room. First of all, the restaurant is huge and beautiful, modern and well decorated with a ton of seating and buffet tables brimming with colorful, fragrant bounties of food. It books up far in advance for dinner – we were only able to get a table because there were some reserved for hotel guests. Plan ahead. It’s also enormously expensive, but not out of line with other fancy Asian buffets I’ve been to, which are more lavish than almost anything you’d find even in Las Vegas. Service is good. There obviously isn’t full table service, but you can order wine, and all the staff, from station cooks to bussers, are unobtrusive and pleasant. I can’t even tell you everything I ate at The Market in the course of these three meals. I piled up several plates with all kinds of bites, and I didn’t even hit close to half of what was on offer. There were dozens of different cuisines represented, and almost everything was good. Let’s put it this way – there were whole lobsters on offer, and none of us got them because they seemed like they would take up too much stomach space. So what did I eat, let’s see… Oh, there was a dedicated sushi bar at dinner, where I got a few nigiri, as well as salmon and octopus sashimi. It wasn’t like Jiro Dreams of Sushi quality or anything, but it was fresh and tasty, definitely a cut above buffet sushi anywhere else. I had smoked duck and raw scallop in its shell, chicken foot salad, and a conch shell stuffed with seafood and bread crumbs with a yellow Portuguese sauce. I ate sweet Korean short ribs, grilled squid, and crab legs stewed in chili sauce; I had some kind of Singaporean curry soup that kind of blew my mind. There was a whole dessert bar with ice cream and a dozen tiny cakes. I tried a couple durian things – seemed low risk enough, but I guess I can’t even handle it in panna cotta or ice cream form. Did much better with the mango panna cotta, and I’m pretty sure I had a couple other little things that were lovely, too. For breakfast, there was dim sum and noodle soup, as well as all the western staples you could want. The eggs were done right, and came in many forms. I ate sausage with an abundance of roasty cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. There was also lots of juice. We tried breakfast at both The Market and Above & Beyond, and The Market is by far the better option. I’ve never been a huge fan of buffets, but after eating at The Market I will be even more critical of them going forward. This place is built to impress, with an outstanding selection of great food. If you’re ever in Hong Kong, be sure to check it out. Come hungry, and get ambitious with those plates.

You need to book the weekend brunch well in advance but its worst. The service is good and the spread of food is good. Of the brunches around town this has to be one of the better value ones which includes free flow sparkling wine, beer and juice.

Whenever my wife and I travel to HK, we always stay at Hotel Icon, and our package usually include the breakfast package for this place. The atmosphere is very nicely decorated here. Check out their pastry section, it’s fresh and delicious. Grab a strawberry pastry if they have it. Also get some wet scramble eggs with a fresh crossant. Dim sum and the rest of the stuff is average. Staffs here are very attentive. This place is definitely catered to foreigners, very few Chinese people here. So when is speak Cantonese to them they’re usually pretty shocked. Overall, the Market is a good place to start off your morning since most places in HK opens late. =)

If you like eating a lot at a central spot inside a restaurant with a modern touch then The Market is the place to go to! The buffet costs $ 448 for an adult during dinner time which is pretty expensive for being Hong Kong, but then again you can basically just stuff yourself with lobster and foie gras if that’s your desire and then you will get your money’s worth. The Market does not seem to only serve local HK food but seems to have a mix between Asian and European cuisine. Sea food, meat, stews, woks, soups, raw food, vegetables, sweets, etc. They had it all. To top it off they have a huge selection of desserts which was lovely to end the meal.

Came here for an impromptu lunch as well as afternoon tea on a separate day. The service was always exceptional. The food was very good, but nothing special. The desserts offered during afternoon tea looked delicious but disappointed in flavor. The tea was lackluster. Lifting the tea on my teapot revealed a run of the mill bagged tea. If I’m going to be paying an arm and a leg for afternoon tea I’d like some high end loose leaf tea. Lastly, everything was significantly over priced, but it was expected because the restaurant is located inside a 5 star hotel(Hotel Icon). NOTE: I’d only come here for convenience if staying at the hotel.

Holy crap!!! I don’t normal do hotel buffet but because my wife is sick of eating Asian food for the whole entire week, we came down from our room to The Market to eat some Western food. The first thing you noticed when you entered the restaurant was the amount of selection they have for a breakfast buffet; it was insane and I was overloaded with all their different varieties: Pastries, salad, dim sum, cold cuts, fruit, noodle, congee plus cooks on standby to customize your liking for breakfast. We were stuffed and it was well worth the experience!!!
