This place is like the Pelican Hill or Montage from Newport. Food was mediocre, but had wide variety of selections. View is breathtaking.

I literally spent ¼ of my childhood here. I went to the play house at least once a month, swam, dined. Not too much has changed in terms of facilities from my knowledge. I don’t really go there anymore since i lost my subsidiary membership. But I still go there for dining (although a bit more at the Shatin clubhouse).
I like how its monthly membership isn’t that expensive. I have many good memories in this club.
The food is good quality and very reasonably priced as well. Food at The Food Plaza is even CHEAP!
The swimming pools included various indoor pools and outdoor pools, the gym is well equipped (although I really don’t know much about gymming). I have never made use of the entertainment/​mahjong rooms yet, but they look very well equipped. I wish the rooms open past midnight though! You can really spend a whole day here especially compared to the other clubhouses of HKJC (shatin pool and play house is inferior! I think you just ride horses and play golf at Beas? I rarely went there)

Tip: 3 hours of free parking (it used to be 5!) If you’re not driving, you would have to cab there, it’s a little out of the way up on a hill.
Favourites: Affordable club membership fees compared to other exclusive clubs (if you get in!) and reasonably priced food.
Meh: It was retarded that subsidiary members could not pay for guests. I went there once with a friend and I got denied to treat her. That was embarrassing! Also it’s gone after you turn 21 =/​
Last words: High quality club. Well rounded facilities.
