We stopped by for breakfast the other day for the 1st time and decided we liked this café. I heard they had a facelift recently and I’m liking it, not sure what it looked like before so I have nothing to compare to. The coffee was good. I got a medium roast which works fine for me because I can’t handle the strong stuff. The breakfast selections including the baked goods are all delish. We had the special of the day, a rather healthy spread. My girlfriend loved it. I thought it was lovely too.

Decent breakfast dishes like the classic bacon & eggs using Canadian bacon and bangers for the proteins. The coffee though? Painfully overpriced and underwhelming. My chemex of the single origin roast of the month was the tiniest I’d ever seen(~8 oz total including the flask) at nearly $ 9USD. One note overall with mediocre acid structure, just disappointing. Coffee is clearly not a big thing in Hong Kong and the prices here seemed to be reflective of that.

Great renovations… and that’s it! Ordered the signature JWF cold brew to go. They gave me a plastic cup with the cup a little less than half full. I’m standing there, being given a 100HKD cup of JWF cold brew that’s half full. Really? For that price, get a smaller cup so it doesn’t seem so weird. Looks like I was given coffee in a cheap plastic to go cup that someone else drank already. Service and communication is terrible for the price. It also doesn’t help that the two staff members we dealt with just seemed miserable.

Not sure if the barista was having a bad day but… I ordered one of their signature beans with the ‘clever cup’ brewing method, which cost a good 90+ hkd. It was the worst cup I’ve ever had in my life. It looked lighter in colour than the tea you get at yum cha, and tasted like dishwater, or as if they re-used grounds from a previous brew. Won’t be back.

So I come back for lunch after the last Unilocal coffee tasting event held here… With work to do after lunch me and my colleagues could not afford a longer lunch to enjoy the specialty coffee but did enjoyed a relaxing lunch. With the spacious setting, the french window and the Nordic loft feeling, we almost forgot that we have to go back to work and that the gossiping could go on forever… So the lunch set is great. The all day breakfast was lovely. The pizza which my colleague has ordered seems good too. Also, the flat white came with the set lunch is very creamy and aromatic too.

Fabulous coffee! Loved the Manuka latte! The curly fries and the beef and cheese soft taco are yummy! Their homemade lemonade is a great as well.

Nice café. Unique coffee kind such as Manuka coffee(latte with new Zeland honey). I love to try their golden potato ginger flat white café. Interesting concepts. Did not have any food, but they offer simple menu of salad, pizza, pancakes and lots of wonderful tarts such as fruit tart, carrot cake and lots of others. My favorite stop over café to go to in Hong Kong.
