First off let me apologize for the photos, they were taken with a very old phone of mine… Hopefully they did not make you run away… Anyways, I spent my first year in a hall called«Daisy Li Hall» in New Asia College. And I am still pretty glad to have picked this place as my first year of studies. As a freshman, I really did not know what to expect at all. Luckily, I was told by many during the CUHK Registration Day that I should apply for a room at the hall with the best view in CUHK — Daisy Li Hall. It is located at the top of the hill and someone also told me it was drastically cold during winter compared to those at the bottom of the hill.(though I did not see much difference still…) Anyways, on my first day there, I was genuinely amazed with the view. My room faced directly to the Tolo Harbour, which according to feng shui, it helps so much with studies when your room faces such beautiful sea and mountain. And I did get a rather good result there haha… Whenever you walk to this hostel, you will also walk pass the famous Pavilion of Harmony. The huge banyan seems to have protecting this place for years and you will definitely feel very safe and sheltered if you are lucky enough to be one of the residents here. I have to say that it has the best study environment among all hostels in CUHK. However, if I may add, though it is equipped the best view in CUHK, I was rather annoyed with the shared bathroom as it was rather dirty…(Well, I suppose that is the case for most hostels here anyways…)
