I’ve got this observation that is common across Chinese restaurants(esp. chained) located in residential area : — the quality could be quite bad, either the food quality or the service standard. My gut feeling is that the customer behavior in residential area might be quite loyal(or without much choice to have family gathering with elderly), that the quality demand is not high. The staff were quite spoiled actually — for the dinner set for 12 that we have ordered, 4 different staff came to us seperately, informing us that particular item in the set was not available tonight and that we have to change to another dish, and the communication was so chaotic that some of the items was found available again after we argued that we want to stick with what stated in the menu. For example, they demended us to change the roast goose to suckling pig, reason to be all goose were sold out, but after arguing a goose was found somewhere that we just need to wait for an hour such that it could be roasted fresh. The attitude of the staff were terrible. They merely came over to notify us this and that in a commanding tone, I felt like talking to my boss T___T…Being more professional myself, I even have to request her kindly to double check with the kitchen and confirm the menu as a whole instead of discussing each food item one by one, she just reluctently rejected my suggestion and insisted in discussing the menu based on her«thinking» of what’s available in the kitchen…*CRY* Food was luckily okay that night. The goose was meaty and juicy(cos they made that fresh with me insisting). The lobster noodle was huge and yummy. The rest are okay too.
