Some people say it’s hard to find a place with good late night supper on Hong Kong Island. NO WAY! Tai On Building is a culinary mecca situated in the east side of Hong Kong Island that opens until late. You can find all sort of indigenous goodies there but don’t expect anything fancy. Tai On Building is the ultimate destination to cure your late night local food cravings.
There are food stores selling egg waffle, skewer, congee, fried noodles, fishball, deep fried tofu, eggplant and whatever and more. I always feel like I’m having a buffet at Tai On Building, strolling around and searching for more and more food, until I can’t carry anything more. Then, I know it’s time to take a cab home and enjoy my delicious late night supper.
Among all eateries in Tai On Building, my must-​visit every time is a cart-​noodles store located near one of the entrances. They do really scrumptious cart-​noodles, flavorful soup base featuring a mind-​blowing selection of toppings. I reckon there are more than 40 toppings for you to choose from, including chicken wing, vegetable, beef brisket, wonton, spring roll and MORE. And since the price is incredibly affordable, I always order five or even six toppings. That’s what I call cheap happiness.
