Soho East

«Soho» seems to be a phrase that has been truly overworked around the world. These days there seem to be a «Soho» for every major town and city; as long as there are a few bars and restaurants then that counts as being «Soho». You cold imagine my surprise when I first came to Soho East to find that… well…it has a few fancy restaurants and a small bar/​snack shop in the middle– but that’s about it. Its quiet as hell because its a residential area making it more Saga than Soho.
Is that necessarily a bad thing? Not really.
The good thing with this location is the fact that its quiet and the seaside location is just unbeatable– I really can’t think of anywhere else in Hong Kong quite like this (there are but not as convenient as this place is). Soon you will notice that most of the restaurants here are operated by the Parrot Group but again that’s no bad thing as you still have plenty of choices in between them. The prices here are fair– you get mid pricing items for good enough food and service. Most of all, it is the relaxing ambience of the entire area that money simply can’t buy in town.
For drivers you have plenty of parking spaces here so this is an added bonus– just remember not to drink and drive!
