This neighborhood eatery is the closest thing you can get other than going to Szechuan. It has attracted many Mainland Chinese students from the nearby university and Japanese expat from the nearly Canon office as well as spicy food lovers like us to become regulars. It’s so causal that it does not have a printed menu, everything is pretty much hand written and posted on the wall. With the exception of the set lunch, you get to mark it yourself on the paper and then hand it to the staff so as to limit the time each staff has to spend on serving customers. Therefore do not expect any service nor communications, its more or less like a fast food place but the staff will bring you the food kind of place. But the food(and the price!) will overcome all that, especially the Spicy Szechuan Chicken, it’s one of the best I have ever had in Hong Kong. You can order it a la carte at dinner, or a smaller portion with a bowl of noodle and a drink for lunch. For under HK$ 40 a set lunch, it’s a bargain no one can resist. So expect to wait in line during lunch hour and if need be you may be moved to a different table to make room for a large group, even if you are eating. With good food, things like that are forgivable.
