I woke up with a vicious hangover and a text from a friend asking if I was around for brunch. My immediate state said, 1) Ravenous. 2) greasy food is required. 3) I’d turned on «Chef» as some light tv as I debated what to do — I wanted a sandwich. Relaying these thoughts to my friend she suggested Seoul Bros. By Jove, she got all those things in one. Seoul Bros is the PERFECT hangover cure. We rocked up and sadly the kitchen was still preparing for the day. In my hungover state, I popped my head in and enquired if they could open a bit early. The very kindly obliged as what we wanted was prepped and ready. We ordered the chicken banh mi and kimchi fries. The banh mi was exactly what the hangover gods ordered. Tender Korean fried chicken topped with pickles and secret sauce in between crispy bread. I. Was. In. Heaven. Add in the kimchi fries and you could put a fork in me as I was done. The fries were smothered in kimchi(tick for that tangy spicy flavour) and drowned in that American fake cheese sauce. Hells yes. The perfect start to my day — although, the kimchi flavoured burps following stuck around a bit too long. Tip, brushing your teeth numerous times does not help. Drinking more wine does.

Great service and great food. I had the beef banh mi and the Kimchi fries. The bread on the banh mi was great. My brother had the quesadilla. He was not very impressed.

I visited the place after reading some recommendations from instagram food bloggers. This is a trendy little store located at the Hollywood Road. It is more like a Korean-styled fast food outlet than a Korean restaurant for me as there aren’t as much food choices available. I got the fried chicken and the kimchi fries. Both of them actually tasted pretty good. I loved the sweet and sour sauce covering those freshly fried chicken as well as the cheesy kimchi fries! It’s such a pity that I was already full after finishing both items. But if I was not, I would have gone for the banana-milk flavoured ice cream. That was absolutely tempting for a Korean banana milk lover like me! The location is a bit inconvenient for me being far away from MTR station.

Yes, this place is cheap but how authentic is it? Debatable. I had ordered a Chicken Quesadilla which took about 15 minutes for the server to bring out of the refrigerator and plop it onto the panini grill. Even after all that, it still wasn’t that hot! The quesadilla consisted of a rubbery tortilla, chicken that is most likely the fried chicken that they sell, cheese and some corn. Yes, it was tasty but they clearly have some execution and operation issues. While I was only 1 of 3 patrons there, they also screwed up another man’s order — but was served food before me while he ordered after me. Yea, don’t think I will be going back. Skip.

Decent, but not amazing. Had the bibimbap, fried chicken and the kimchi fries. Didn’t think the bibimbap was that great, but the fries and the chicken were good. Convenient location and fairly priced.

Really tasty and light scrambled eggs. this place is OK. I don’t see it lasting more than a couple years.

Walked past this spot a couple times but it was never opened. Finally found time to try it on Friday night — kimchi fries, spicy corn salad, fried chicken. Overall, small place with an even tinier kitchen, but quality of food is decent if you just want a quick bite. Fried chicken is the highlight.

Discovered this place on the way to Edition because I was wanting some Kimchi Fries(I miss Chi’lantro BBQ back in Austin TX). Noticing that this place has it on the menu and only recently opened I decided to give it a try, after all it gives an excuse to write another review rather than stick with the same stuff(variety is a spice of life they say). Anyway, it turned out my detour was actually worth it as the kimchi fries was actually good(as of this writing there’s 3 places that do it that I know of). And also the wrapper they used is kind of cool if you can read Korean. The only thing that I could see that could change is probably some soju cocktails and Korean beers.(Maybe credit cards too. But Octopus is fine). But I guess the place was still in soft launch mode so I won’t deduct a star for that.

Whoa whoa whoa, let’s not get carried away by the hype… Seoul Bros is good, but not great. Sure it’s cheaper than a lot of places in central, and yes their unofficial motto might be «twice the portions at half the price», but Ebeneezers is cheap too. Don’t get your expectations up — beef in the bibimbap is pretty much the quality you would expect for that price while the KFC was mostly skin & batter. The best thing about Seoul Bros is that it is an attractive alternative to Ebeneezers and Burger Circus for late night food after lots of drinking.

I’m a fan of Korean food. I LOVE Korean Food. A very affordable Korean — fusion restaurant. Today, we had the Bibimbap with beef and kimchee fries. Now, considering it is 48 $ for most things on the menu, you won’t get too much in return for the portion. The egg was a fully cooked scrambled egg for the Bibimbap which I haven’t really encountered before. I guess I understand this since you aren’t going to get your Bibimbap in a sizzling clay pot here. The kimchee fries were just ok. I love Kimchee so I wished they gave me more Kimchee with my fries. Again, the portion is small, but fine for 2 people if you’re not going to eat it all. So it’s A-OK folks! I would come back for the Korean inspired BANH Mi sandwiches.

FINALLY a reasonably priced good meal in Central! Had to check this place out as soon as I heard about it, and everything was really really good, especially the prices. I had the Chicken(Korean fried of course) Banh Mi, which had a great balance between the fried chicken and picked radish and the best baguette I’ve had in HK. Finally a place that has got the bread right! Slight crunchy to the crust, but light and not chewy. I want to take a few of these home for my own sandwiches. I split an order of the sweet and spicy Chicken(again Korean fried of course) which was mixed with Korean rice cakes. I usually don’t like rice cakes as they’re too chewy, but these were slightly crispy on the outside which I enjoyed. We finished with the traditional banana ice cream because… well, it was free, and you can’t say no to that! My friend and I agreed, everything was delicious and it’s a great addition to the area. We’ll be back.

Just went to the soft opening last night, it was a very good experience! It’s a Korean menu with a modern twist. They offer sandwiches, rice bowls, fries, salad, beer and ice cream, among other things. It was quite busy and since the wait was long, we were given free banana ice cream, which was delicious. My husband and I tried two of the set meals. The beef banh mi sandwich, corn salad, and the sweet and spicy chicken were all amazing. A good portion of food for the price as well, which is nice to find in central. The staff were very friendly and described all the dishes on the menu before we ordered. Looking forward to returning!

The trendy korean joint is just opening in SOHO on Peel Street at Hollywood Road. Open until 2am on weekends, it should offer some much needed late night variety to the area. Created by three friends who attended the University of Chicago, the menu includes Bahn Mi sandwiches, kimchi fries, hot and spicy chicken(The Chicken), bibimbap, and assorted sides. I ordered a set meal with beef bibimbap, hot and spicy chicken, and a soda for $ 78HKD. The chicken was crispy and well flavored and spiced. The bibimbap had the perfect amount ingredients on top to give a flavorful punch. As this was a soft opening, the owners we very attentive and offered us some complimentary banana ice cream during our(short) wait. The ice cream offered a nice finish to our night.
