For what it is, I think Pre A Manger is very overpriced. It doesn’t taste bad but I’d rather go elsewhere.

Speaking of lunch place, it is often a tough decision to make, not least because I am dead indecisive, but also when health is in concern, you could pretty much rule out a lot of places in Hong Kong. Pret being a coffee shop selling soups, salad and sandwiches has become one of my more preferred places for both a quick munch and to spend off an extra hour or two before other engagements. You might have guessed the reason why I am particularly fond of Pret other than other coffee shops of similar sort, le soupe.(how i wish i could bold the words~) There are normally 2 – 3 choices of soup every day for people to choose from; thoughtfully they have provided a mixture of both lighter and richer, thicker options. While the lighter soups like chicken noodle soup and minestrone are pretty much like consommé, the richer soups is not heavy at all. Instead of using a rue and cream base as most thick soups do, they use vegetable mash; this makes the soup slightly grittier true, but at the same time healthier. Other than the soup, another great offerings of pret would be the hot wraps. Imagine yourself in a miserable day in the winter, inside the heater lies a hot wrap with warm saucy interior of goo and gunge, together with a hot bowl of soup or a hot mug of coffee; an instant alleviation of gloom. Aside of the savory, the sweets in pret are also exceptional; yoghurt cups of different flavors, cheese cakes, cookies, fresh pastries… there are just too many to list one by one. So there you go, a place they serves healthy food in the best possibly ways; although it might be slightly pricier than some other coffee shops, I am still willing to spend my money on them good food…(well. that also explains why i’m so broke now…)

Pret is Hong Kong’s answer to a premium western-style deli, with a good selection of hot and cold sandwiches, hot and cold wraps, salads, fresh soups and pastries. They also offer a variety of premium coffee(I think to compete against café chains such as Starbucks and pacific coffee) but personally I think their food is better. My personal favorite is their beef chili soup– which is more like a robust tomatoey beef stew. Paired with their crusty loaf and there’s a hearty lunch right there. Bottomline: the fresh daily soups, pulled pork hot wrap, Peking duck wrap and yes, the beef chili

Pret is a great place to go to grab a quick lunch. They sell salads, sandwiches, paninis and other types of deli food, and they have an emphasis on freshness and eating healthy. The environment of the café is very chilled and laid-back, and even though it may get crowded it never is too loud so it’s a nice place to catch up with a friend or two. My absolute favorite thing of theirs is the salad wraps. They have a variety such as avocado and pine nuts and smoked salmon with cream cheese, and they’re all incredibly delicious and healthy! They also make hot wraps — my personal favorite is the salmon fishcake. The ingredients are all nicely wrapped with tortilla which isn’t too thin that it’s like paper, and isn’t too thick that it’s hard to chew through to the ingredients. Around Christmas time, they do a special Christmas hot wrap that has turkey, mashed potatoes and raspberry sauce. It’s like eating a Christmas dinner in the form of a wrap! I sometimes buy their wraps as takeaway and have them for lunch tomorrow. Technically you’re not supposed to do that because they’re made to be consumed the same day, but I throw them in the fridge the minute I get home and they still great the next morning. Pret also does really good value cake sets in the afternoon where you can get a piece of cake and coffee or tea for just $ 39! The downside though is that they only have three choices of cakes(or at least the ones I frequent do) — carrot cake, blueberry cheesecake and chocolate opera. The cakes are quite big as well — none of that $ 40+ for a tiny piece of cake game here! I actually do not adore their cakes because they’re a little bit hard, but they are super filling! Another must-try at Pret — now this is going to sound a little random — but it’s their lightly salted popcorn. It comes in a chip packet and it’s basically good olé popcorn, but healthy! Like the name suggests, it really is VERY lightly salted, but it’s still really good nonetheless. My perfect Pret meal would consist of a salad wrap, a hot latte and a pack of popcorn to top it all off! So, we’ve established that Pret is delicious and healthy, but it is a little on the expensive side(with the exception of the cake sets). The wraps are $ 38 each and they’re sufficiently filling, but not huge by any measure. Personally, I think they are still worth the price because they’re quick to eat, healthy and tasty but I do wish that they were a little cheaper!
