This is one of the best ride of all the Disneyland parks! It’s worth the price of admission. It’s not like the Haunted Mansion but has it’s own storyline and great visual dark ride. I would ride it a few times just to get all the details.

Very well done visual effects and a very short wait time. Makes this a «must visit» place… especially on a rainy day. Since there is no haunted house attraction at this Disneyland, this ride will suffice.

For a ride I was told was merely an overlay on top of America’s Haunted Mansion, I was happy to discover that’s only true to an extent. The story behind the show part of the ride actually ties together with the world of Tokyo Disney’s version of Tower of Terror involving a group of European explorers. The owner of Mystic Manor, Lord Henry Mystic, is part of the same Society of Explorers and Adventurers(S.E.A.) backstory created for Tokyo DisneySea. The Manor features more than one homage to its spiritual predecessor, although the story quickly establishes itself as something different. The finale drives home the Chinese influence for anyone somewhat versed in Chinese mythology. The tech being shown is definitely on the newer side, the ride only being a couple years old. As someone interested in the design and engineering of things, the RF-guided trackless ride vehicles are kind of freaking amazing. Four individual vehicles glide around one another through the course of the experience, splitting up into pairs or down to individual carts at times. The trackless design is really exciting and opens up possibilities for future rides. Other parts of the ride use insanely high res digital projections mixed with practical effects to create things wholly unexpected and will have you swiveling your head trying to take it all in. Hong Kong Disneyland as a whole is a bit empty and boring, especially for people who have experienced the rest of Disney’s more mature properties across the globe, but Mystic Manor was easily worth the price of admission.
