Let’s be real. If you’re a Chinese American visiting Hong Kong, you’ll probably realize that the sizing here is quite different. For example, you may be considered as petite and wear a size small in the US, but find yourself reaching for a large in Hong Kong. Talk about a reality check!
Aside from my plummeting self esteem, the worst part of it all is not being able to buy all the cute street clothes. Luckily, I discovered Mikki House. Not only do they carry a cute selection, but they carry clothing that’s slightly bigger than the typical «Free» size! Mikki, the owner, proudly explained that she understands the difficulty of shopping in HK if you’re not super teeny tiny. Though she’s not fat or chubby at all, she personally makes sure that each item fits her personally.
I walked out of Mikki House with a bag full of new clothes today… it really puts me in a shopping mood when I could fit into every single item in the store!
