Billed as four stars but in reality three stars. The rooms are very small– you will feel cramped as there wasn’t a lot of space to walk around. I think a 2 – 3 feet radius between all the furniture. The pillows are a little lumpy and everything about the place just felt drab and worn. The breakfast is a buffet and not at all like the American hotels. This buffet was very extensive– congee, pre-cut fruits, different varieties of cheese and ham, and the traditional Chinese foods. Absolutely appreciated not having to eat waffles in the morning. What made this hotel stand out though was the free smartphone. Complimentary and in every room, you can make unlimited local calls for free and even has free wi-fi. We were able to get around HK using Google maps with this!

Our flight was delay so we got to the hotel late around 1am. The light to the lobby was shut so we took a while to find the entrance. Checking process was quick and we had to leave a deposit. It was a big surprise when we saw our room. It was my aunt, my female cousin and me traveling together so rooming together would be best and ideal given safety and money-saving reasons. The room is so tiny that I can take 4 steps and reach the farthest window wall. Two twin sized bed for 3 ppl. The bed was so firm; it would have been better had they just took out the bed and left the blankets in the floor. I called the receptionist and was told that this is standard and what we booked. We booked a standard room with two beds for 3ppl! We collectively stood at many hotels over the course of our lives and had never come across this scenario. The fridge made noises all night and mind you the fridge is literally 2ft away. When morning came, we were woken up but drilling upstairs or next door. And then there was noises of someone chopping stuff. It is laughable that they call this a 4star hotel. So far it’s been one night… 3 more nights to go. Hopefully we’ll have a better enjoyable time with the rest of Hong Kong.

Stayed here for two weeks early this year. It was the perfect level of luxury for me: relentlessly pleasant without being embarrassing! Pros: — Incredibly attentive daily service: chocolates on your pillow every night with a card stating the next day’s weather, China Daily left on your door every morning, fresh water bottles and fruit every day. — Comfy beds with down comforters and crisp sheets. You can even choose what type of pillow you prefer: cotton/down/barley. — Big shower stalls. There’s something so satisfying about huge stone shower stalls! — Depending on your room, a nice view. I lucked out with the top(19th) floor, and had a view of a mountain. — Great location near lively areas such as Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei, but not so close that you’re amidst the chaos. You’re also about 10 mins walking from the nearest MTR station. The longer walks take you through fun markets and winding streets. — The hotel is also located in some sort of pet shop district, so if you need some fuzzy puppy/kitten therapy, there are endless storefronts nearby with the cutest furballs you have ever seen. — Hotel shuttle buses run often and take you to/from the airport, or for free to the MTR and popular areas like Star Ferry. — Bakery inside the ground floor lobby was a lifesaver for my many early morning appointments. The buns are not the cheapest, but they were all tasty. — Laundromat across the street has reasonably priced wash/dry and delivers right into your room(same day service if you go closer to when they open, 8:30am). Cons: — Godawful WiFi! This is so basic and was annoying. The connection worked only 10% of the time, was very slow, cut in and out — at every hour of the day, across both my devices. Everyone in our group across multiple floors had the same issue. I heard the in-room ethernet was slow, too. Lobby WiFi was fine. — They charge to use the lobby desktop computers. When I told them the room WiFi was spotty, they told me to restart my device. You’d think they would just waive the fee knowing everyone was having WiFi issues. — Room carpets are a bit old, wooden furniture is slightly chipped. — Rooftop swimming pool is closed the entire months of January and February. — Rooftop fitness room only had a few machines(or so I heard, ha). — Remarkably slow elevators. — The Metropark Hotel group is owned by the conglomerate ultimately headed by CTS, the tourism communications branch of the Chinese government. Depending on who you are, this can feel dirty.
