Lemongrass House

I’m looking for a present, for a girl, but I don’t know much about her so is going to be a tricky one. Some piece of clothing was my first thought but I can’t judge her style by the few times I’ve seen her so… still tricky. I decided to look around some shops this morning to get some inspiration. And thankfully I found it, not too far away from home but a little hidden in one of those big ugly shopping malls in Causeway Bay. I went up the stairs looking for something to eat but I finally spent lunch time at this shop.
It’s a tiny (but very tidy) spa and beauty products ’boutique’ in the 3^rd floor of this mall. As there were mainly restaurants in the building I wasn’t expecting this kind in here, but I was gladly surprised. The colors in the shop (green and lime) are welcoming and I quickly stepped in. Oh, the nice lemongrass smell makes it even cozier! There was only one more customer and the shop assistant was busy with her, so I looked at every shelf for a while before asking. Products weren’t organized in an intuitive manner so I took my time. They have shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, face masks, shower gels, teas… made with coconut, lemongrass, jasmine and geranium among others. I noticed none of the smells were particularly strong but you could definitely feel the difference. I loved the coconut shampoo but at 140HKD the small bottle (around 250 ml) I had my doubts.
For a second it reminded me to LUSH but with a ‘smoother’ vibe. The girl at the shop told me the products aren’t tested on animals and that all came from Pukhet. As I turned around I could see a poster talking about the business and how they source their ingredients. That was a great added value. As a consumer I have the right to know that information and yet many business have so many reserves about it!
Then I remember why I was there… I was looking for a present for someone else! The girl showed me a cute fabric bag with: coconut shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Perfect for travelling… and the perfect present!
