As an American, the last place you’d really want to go is an «American Gourmet» burger and hot dog joint in Asia, but I was highly curious so I decided to try.
Located inside the third floor of the Dragon Centre in Sham Shui Po, this place serves «American» food and by «American» they mean hot dogs and burgers. Oh and spaghetti too. I love Dragon Centre because it is only steps away from my apartment and every year when I visit, there would be some place new that opened. Sometimes a restaurant you liked closed down, but a new one opens up for you to try.
My first time there, I had their tea set (2:30p-6p) and picked a teriyaki burger. I was quite surprised how it turned out. I live in Hawaii and teriyaki burgers are quite popular here and JHD’s version blows anything here in Hawaii away. The flavors are full, the American beef tastes exactly as expected, but sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes were all completely fresh.
Price wise, JHD is a steal. Prices for comparable food in the US is higher and its not uncommon to see a burger costing $ 19 USD. Service quick, ordering is easy, set prices are amazing.
